The Great Migration

Published by on

The Great Migration –> I suppose that’s a bit of an exaggeration, seeing as the new warehouse is just a couple of miles from the old location. There was NOTHING great about today! Except, the fact that it is done! We are moved in and ‘very’ organized. We have considerably less square footage at the new location, so we we were very organized before we moved. It made today go very smoothly.

YEAH!

Baby Marketplace On the Move
One of the ‘moms’ that makes www.thebabymarketplace.com ‘work’ and Lizzy working on the truck. I forgot to take pictures until we we’re 80% unpacked.

Baby Marketplace On the Move
My hero, Mr. MK. I couldn’t have done this without him. I worked ALL day today, but he has been working nights and ALL day yesterday getting the new space ready. They don’t come any better.

Baby Marketplace On the Move
Starting to look pretty good. The new warehouse has two floors. I am hoping that I loose a few pounds running up and down the stairs!

Tomorrow, we’re off for a family holiday … SKIING … yes, again! We like it, alot! I just have about 6 more loads of laundry to get done so I can pack for the trip. ARGGG!

This time we’re taking the nanny and some friends. Should be loads of fun. X’ing my fingers for LOTS of snow and mild temps.

www.thebabymarketplace.com is closed … well sort of … I’ve left the website running and I will be checking a few basic functions each evening, but we are not packing / shipping all week. I have given ALL my employees the week off. To make it up to our customers we are giving 15% off the entire product line. Coupon code is: IamPatient — if you are interested go on over and have a look.

There is a great contest starting later this week. It’s for one of my favorite ‘Rocky Mountain’ products, check back again.

MK xo

Enjoy your skiing vacation! I detest moving and I detest even more unpacking. You are a brave woman and it looks like you have a lot of great support for your business. How wonderful!

Question.. I know that you’re inventory system involves recounting and counting again… how will things run with you gone? We take our chances ordering and hope that the items we’ve chosen aren’t already sold? LOL… not trying to be a bug… I just have a couple items that I have my heart set on and I’d hate to order and be disappointed :O)

Have a great time skiing!

Oooooo…I made the blog in all my over-worked, underfed, rabbitted-out, kitty-sitted-out glory! LOL…looks like I might need some stair runs myself! I’m swearing off butter chicken (because of the butter part, duh), chocolate (damn Eggies…and Caramilks…and Coockies & Cream bars…) and…no, wait I need coffee too much to give it up.

I love the last picture…the fruits of the labor. Semi-organized chaos only because it’s a new arrangement and is going to take a bit of time to learn how to dance through all the aisles without crashing into anything (or, more inportantly, each other).

I’m tired just looking at that and I got there halfway through it…hope you’ve found a nice hot-tub to soak in —the only reason I would think of to drive 4 hours…NOT for the hurtling down the side of a mountain on a couple of little planks, that’s for sure! I would, however, drive 4 hours for a loooong soak in a hot-tub ;)

Wow! That looks like a lot of work, but well worth it.
