Me Missing Stuff …

in Family, General

I am still missing my card reader! I’ve looked and looked, interogated small children and Mr. MK. I mean really interogated, where you look at them like … ‘you know they know’. You look them right in the eyes, carefully registering any and all variation in pupil size, AND if they are ‘in the know’, they for sure at that point know that I know they know! BUT, none of them are ‘in the know’.

I have resigned myself to fact that card reader has moved permanently to ‘I don’t know’ (man there’s a lot of good crap living in ‘I don’t know’) and probably won’t bother coming back until a new card reader moves in.

No card reader means I haven’t bothered taking any photos. I miss the pictures I was taking of the kids. Today, a new card reader will be purchased!

MommyKnows was for just a few seconds on the CBC National News on Monday night, but I missed that too! Thanks Gayle for pointing that out and thanks to Kas Roussy for including me in your story. I can’t find the clip on their site … did anyone else see it?

I popped over to CrabMommy’s Cookie Magazine Bloget today, only to discover she is dreaming about a ‘brown Christmas’. That got me thinking about my own ‘brown Christmas’s’ of yesteryear and now I am missing those too! I grew up in Dubai and the frigid temps and snow in the Great White North aren’t helping my homesick feelings.

We’re missing Hayley too, but she is having a good time in Brazil.

I miss the low CAD … SORRY … whinging about that again won’t help!

And last but not least, I am sort of missing writing my blog. I’ll try to be better (new card reader will help!).

Winner of last post … #33 Erica (Mom’s Journal) – Email me!

Hi MommyKnows! We miss your card reader too because we miss your regular blogging and great photos! I don’t know if you plan on continuing your contest for December (I plan on checking in everyday nonetheless ;-), but if you are, how about:
    Definitely Dashing in December or
    Decadent December or my favourite
    Dizzy in December.

Hope you find that card soon!

How did you get to Dubai?

I can’t wait for you to get a new card reader! I really enjoy your pics. The posts just aren’t the same without them :)

I miss you writing your blog, too. My digital camera was stolen in October (from the zoo!) and I was without one for a month and it seemed like forever. Go get a new card reader ASAP- you’ll feel better, for sure.

Oh, bummer that you never found your card reader! Definitely go and buy a new one. And then hope that you don’t find the old one after you’ve done that … Murphy’s Law!!

I love that, the “know they know” look – how true….it does work!

Missing warmth, wondering why we moved back.. sigh.

Most of my “missing” things show up after I buy a new one…it’s a sure plan most of the time…

I hate that when I am looking for something and all I get is blank looks and “I don’t know”, It especially cheeses me off when the thing I am looking for is sitting right in front of them!!

Right about now I’m missing our chinooks! The little ‘breaks’ from winter are truly appreciated!

Everything goes missing in my house and no matter how much you interrogate the household no one has any idea what happened to anything lol it’s so frustrating, especially when you know that they know where it is! Perhaps the Borrowers are afoot?

Hmmm…I hate it when things go “missing” and then show up after you get a new one! But, good luck…maybe you’ll find it BEFORE you get a new one! ;)

Glad to have you back! Really missing your pics and sense of humor!

Nice to see you back. I grew up in the north and LOVE a white Christmas!! Hope something comes up to cheer you up tomorrow.

How frustrating! The old one will probably show up years from now in a bedsheet or something

  • Pam December 6, 2007, 10:47 am

I hope you get your new card reader soon. I can lose ours – we have one built into the printer and one into the computer itself, so if I lose either I’m in big trouble! (I did lose the portable one a ways back hence why we have a built in one now).
I hope you enjoy the very white Christmas that is happening here!

I miss your blog! I missed November? Where on earth did it go and how is already December? Rapidly running out of shopping time, and reasons to justify my shopping habit! I miss our mild climate. What’s with this snow?

    Glad to see you back!

  • Monique December 6, 2007, 10:47 pm

I’m always really embarrassed because most of the time when I’m “missing” something and start asking family member is they moved “my stuff” again, it ends up being right where it’s supposed to and for some reason I just don’t see it when I’m searching.

  • Jamie December 8, 2007, 8:15 am

Why is it always that way? As soon as you buy a new something to replace the old something, you are virtually guaranteed it will show up.

    sigh.

  • katie bowen December 8, 2007, 12:05 pm

can’t wait to see your new pictures whenever u get a chance to load ’em on your site! always just to see such cute and well dressed kiddos!!!!
