Happy Book Day to You ~ the Series (you pick trio)
Welcome to week 2 of —> Happy Book Day to You ~ the Series
Do you remember in December I held a Happy Book Day Giveaway on my birthday? Well I enjoyed it so much (because books are my favorite thing), I thought I’d make it a weekly occurrence. For the next several weeks you can count on a ‘Happy Book Day to You ~ the Series’ giveaway every Tuesday.
Last week I offered you a book of substance, this week I offer you a book of escape, fun, easy reading.
The winner can choose *one* of the three books above. They are:
Mrs. Perfect (by Jane Porter)
When I saw this title I thought the book was about me. Bwahahaha! Seriously though, I bought one of Jane’s books last spring and then went out and bought everything she’s ever written including a harlequin romance (*gasp*). You can click on the authors (above) name to go to her blog OR you can click HERE to a short blurb about the book.
Marshmallows for Breakfast (by Dorothy Koomson)
I love British chick-lit and Dorothy Koomson didn’t disappoint. This is a book about hope, redemption and finding love in unexpected places. You can click on the authors (above) name to go to her blog OR you can click HERE to a short blurb about the book.
Second Chance (by Jane Green)
Again, I think I’ve read every book Jane has written, AND (IMO) it’s British chick-lit at it’s best! You can click on the authors name (above) to go to her blog OR you can click HERE to a short blurb about the book.
Some simple rules and things to remember:
1. This book is second hand. I’ve read it, I liked it and I am giving it to you. It may possibly have coffee rings or warped pages from sitting on my night stand. Call me cheap, or call me environmentally friendly, I’m not bothered either way.
2. Consider passing it forward when you are done, you could even have a giveaway! Remember, what goes around comes around.
3. You must come back here to see if you are the winner. I won’t track you down, if you wait to long … I might lend it to a friend or a neighbor and then YOU are out of luck. You need to email me with your address, once I receive it I will pop it in the mail to you at my convenience.
4. To be eligible to win, you need to leave a comment on this post. I’ll pick a winner sometime on Thursday, February 5th, 2009.
5. Tell a friend—> this isn’t really a rule, but it would be really nice. wink
What is your favorite genre? If you win which book do you think you’ll pick? No worries it’s not written in stone, I will let you change your mind.

All of those books look good! I was drawn to the Marshmallows for Breakfast (because that’s what Butterfly wanted this morning) and it would be fun to read it! :)

They all sound like a great (read) time. I would go in the order of Second Chance and then Marshmellow then the Mrs.Perfect.
Anyhoo… even if at least I can have a reference for when I’m done with my current book. as always take care.

I agree with Lucy, they do all sound like great books. However, I would go in the order of Ms. Perfect, Marshmellow then Second Chance. Great stuff.

what a great idea! I just may have to do this. Although, most of my used books go back to the library where they have a sale every spring. The money goes to help the programs at the library. But it would be fun to mail some books off here and there (to all 4 of my readers, I’m sure they would ALL win!)
Plus, the title: Marshmallows for Breakfast is so totally great!

They all three sound good. Ms. Perfect and Marshmallows for Breakfast are the two I’d be torn between. I tend to enjoy British chick lit as well.

Hmmm… I think Marshmallows for Breakfast. As for genre, I read a little bit of everything, really. I do like historical type stuff, but I also like modern and sci-fi… fantasy, you name it! My favourite author is John Steinbeck tho. I LOVE East of Eden.

They all sounds like very fun books to read. I especially like the blurb about second chance. Thanks for the chance. Books are a love of mine, also.

I love books! I love reading all kinds of books so if I were to win, I’d tell you to surprise me and then I’d pace the floor until the mailman came with a package and start reading the second I got the book out and opened.

You mean I have to pick just one? All sound good, I like reading a good book.
jafer · February 4, 2009 at 3:42 am
That’s a good idea. I have a ton of books sitting on my shelf that I haven’t touched since I never have any time to read. I don’t want any of the books, I’m just commenting :)

Love the idea and love to read as well. However it goes in spurts…I’ll read non stop for a month and then put the book away for maybe 6 months.
Not sure if that’s normal ?
Great blog btw

Oh, i am afraid i forgot when i read the book last time, but i am sure i would read Mrs. Perfect, and if the content is close to life and not a kind of those fairy tales( you know what i mean) there could be a good lesson for all of us.

What a great idea to do this regularly. I love fiction set in different countries and cultures best (Kite Runner, etc) but I enjoy almost anything. The Marshmallow one has the best title ever and I DO judge a book by its cover.

I want one of the books! If you’re reading them…I’m sure they are good.

I would choose Second Chance. It seems symbolic since my husband that I divorced seven years ago and I are back together with our three girls, so we are a family on a second chance.
How fitting!!

Hi, I think I would pick either Marshmallows for Breakfast or Mrs. Perfect, but any would do. I love romance novels, and just got into the paranormal genre after reading Twilight. I also love historical fiction.
thanks for sharing

Well, not sure which book I’d like to read. I haven’t read any of them or the authors. I think it is great to recycle the books. Why throw them away or let them collect dust.
Nick · February 4, 2009 at 9:00 pm
I want one of them books! They sound like a fun read. I loved the bit about the Second Chance as well!

I love light/fluffy reads! I just finished the shopaholic series – I listened to it in the car while driving to Vancouver.

I would love to have them all! They all sounds a bit of interesting stuff just based on the title. However, Second Chance would be my first choice.
