Georgia loves to decorate our driveway and sidewalks with her painted creations. I make her inexpensive and vibrant sidewalk chalk paint using this simple recipe:
1/4 cup of cornstarch
1/4 cup of water
food colouring
Mix cornstarch, water and food colouring together until smooth. Repeat for each colour needed.
Note: I use these Wilton Icing Colours (food colour). They make vibrant colours!
Georgia and a friend painted a story along our sidewalk about four sidewalk blocks long. So cute and creative!
Everyone knows pink rubber boots are a must for that little black dress!
How’s your summer going?

(And Stumbled it.) xoxo
@Angella, Thanks! Miss Emily will love it! :)
Wow, I thought your daughter is using permanent paints. That would be messy in your driveway.
@Ronald Redito, Yes, permanent paints would be very messy. Luckily, this washes away with the rain.
Children do the art with lot of imagination, I love this post

@anakart, Only until it rains, or you spray it off with water.
What a great idea to make your own sidewalk chaulk. The colors of the chaulk looking amazing. It looks like she had so much fun and I admit I love the pink boots and black dress (she has a lot of fashion sense!).
I love this idea! I have not tried drawing with sidewalk chalks because of the mere fact that it is a chalk and the dust is not good for asthmatics like me and my son…. but this is chalk PAINT! We will try this as soon as I can buy food coloring. Wahoooo! Thanks sis!
This is a fun way of spending time with your kids without really having to spend much. What is important to family really is the time and bonding you have spent with them and not just by the things you buy for them. That is why it is so saddening when divorce between couples happen because it’s their children whose going to suffer the most.
very nice post, i certainly love https://www.mommyknows.com, keep on it !!!!!
Thanks you mommyknows
My friend Kim posted about making your own sidewalk chalk paint and it was a hit.
great web site thanks sharing.
Thanks for sharing. I just referenced your recipe on my blog. My kids had a blast with this. We used a muffin tin mold to act as a palette for the paint.
