This is me … many, many moons ago in grade one.
I had the mumps on just one side. I am pretty sure my mom didn’t know that when she sent me to school. Don’t I look miserable?
I am not much happier today, my hair isn’t really much better either. Hmmm …

Rocktober Baby! (Marketplace) is going to be a fun month! I am continuing the give-aways with yet another twist –> this month instead of a prize-per-day, there will be a prize-per-post. Some days all you’ll have to do is comment, other days you’ll have to jump through hoops!
I want to see your Grade 1 photos! Post one on your blog and link back to this post, or put one up on Flickr and then add it to my flickr group – Grade One Photos, or email me (kim at mommyknows.com) your picture and I will add it to my flickr group (Grade One Photos) . Make sure you come back here, leave a comment and let me know where to find your photo.

EVERY post in October Rocktober I’m giving away a free prize (maybe more, but at least one). Just like in the past the winners will be randomly drawn and posted here on the site.
The winner(s) will be able to choose one of any of the prizes listed on the flickr set: Rocktober Baby! (Marketplace). Once an item is chosen, it will be removed from flickr and will no longer be available (unless I have two … which I do for some).
All prizes are provided by: www.thebabymarketplace.com in conjuction with www.mommyknows.com

You don’t look very happy in that picture. At least you have a rockin’ shirt and a pretty pink yarn!
I love old school pictures.

My goodness, I love that outfit Kim!! Groovy!!
I wouldn’t have guessed you had mumps. When I had them my face swelled up 3 times the normal size! Attractive, huh?

Okay..and your outfit on you then, was like Georgia’s outfits you put on her now – You must have been too cool!! Your mom must have had her hands in the fashion pot too.. I am not being smart, I am serious.
Lastly – JUST FOR YOU, I put my pic up and 2 more that are just for you too – and anyone around here – check them out and comment for me.. I am pretty sure you can just click on my username. If not, I will post again with the link.

I went to school sick all the time. I don’t know why now. I remember in high school going to each class and falling asleep at my desk and then waking up to go to the next class and falling asleep again. I did that all day. I had one of the strictest teachers in the school and he let me sleep in his class. I think he could tell I was really sick. Now tell me, why did no one think to make me go home? The just let me wander around like a zombie that day. I think I would have went home if I wasn’t the living dead that day.

I LOVE the picture! :) If I come across someone with a scanner, I will post mine.

Aw man, no grade one pics from me! lol!
Susy-Q · October 26, 2007 at 8:06 pm
My photos are still in an unidentified box from our last move, piled in the closet from hell (the one you never open in fear of starting an avalanche). I let the hubby venture in there when we suspect that what we want might be in there. IT has to be something REAL IMPORTANT (on the verge of a life and death situation). If I told him I needed a grade one picture to post on the internet for this “real cool blog” I like to leave comments on, he would…laugh…real hard!
OMG, SAM does look like his MOMMY! (–not girlie way though!)

I have a few photos that are so crazy from school. One year I cut (or butchered) my bangs the night before our photos. My mom was furious, but I was in a hurry to get on with my evening and didn’t want to wait on her to cut them. She had to hunt down a curling iron with the tiniest barrel you’ve ever seen. Wow, that picture was not my best!

Couldn’t find the actual school picture but I sent you another that is equally scary and fitting for this time of year!

Hi There, this is my first time to your site via Andrea’s blog. She posted her one year photo and inspired me to check this site out and do the same. Great contest!

I’d have to call my mom for school pictures. I was going to say you look like Sam but I guess it’s the other way around!
Heather · October 27, 2007 at 7:45 pm
Sam looks just like you!!!
Deanne S. · October 27, 2007 at 8:01 pm
Great outfit! I also thought Sam looks a lot like you!
Jaime Stephens · October 27, 2007 at 10:00 pm
Okay… I have no pictures of myself at age 6 or 7 that I can show anyone. LOL. I’ll have to dig one out, however the quality won’t be very good as I don’t have a scanner and will have to take a pic of a pic. But its better than nothing.
And Kim… I must say that I’m addicted to your website :S
Jaime Stephens · October 27, 2007 at 10:10 pm
Alright… here is my picture. Uploaded on my flickr site. Enjoy!

OK, so I have no scanner, and my pic is at my parent’s who are equally inept at technology, but I can describe it to you!
Very chubby little girl, dark borwn hair cut into “flattering” bowl cut, a brown courdory jumper with a borwn and whilte frilly blouse, a huge grin and a triple chin!
Hey, well do I get an A for effort?
Amanda · October 28, 2007 at 7:10 pm
Guess this means I need to go through that large stack of photos just scattered in my office. Maybe I will even sort and organize them while I am at it (yeah, right!). I will try to get one tomorrow!
Deb · October 29, 2007 at 8:53 am
Kim, I know you have a sense of humour…
Just looking through the grade one pics when I came across yours. My 4 year old said, “Mom, is that a girl or a boy?” :) Apparantly she didn’t see the bow in your hair.
