Sam is having a sleepover. The activity of the night is highly addictive computer game. When his buddy arrived, they went straight to the laptops.

come on in ...

That was 3 hours ago, buddy still has his backpack on.

“Buddy come on in and set a spell”.

“Buddy come on in and take a load off”. Particularly that backpack.

He can’t hear me. He has selective man hearing, even at aged nine it’s highly developed. BOYS!!

Can’t tell you how many times I say just that, every day. Usually with a sigh. Boys will be…um…boys.

When Alec and his sister, two of our twelve grand kids, come visiting they go straight to our computers and will sit next to each other sometimes watching the same videos. There is only so many Crazy Frog and Gummi Bear music I can take!

What game are they playing? Must be really addictive, if he doesn’t even mind the backpack weight for more than three hours :) Do they even plan on taking a break and eating? Hmm.. probably not haha. Thanks!

It’s not just boys with the selective hearing. Ask my daughter. What? Oh, were you talking to me?

boys will be boys, especially in the company of their friends and when they’re glued to their laptops..i betcha if you mentioned something about food for them, they’d jump!

Marie · August 3, 2009 at 7:01 pm

or if you initiated a laptop free time period in which they’d actually have to get off their computers…

Grog · August 3, 2009 at 9:38 pm

Maybe the backpack ways down on his frontal lobe and therefore he can’t hear :)

Some days I really wish videogames never existed… Where are the days where kids were playing outside, climbing trees, building camps…

Now I rarely see any group of kids playing outside… I guess facebook, msn messenger and Nintendo are slowly killing the childhood of our little ones.

Sad.

Watches Reviews · August 10, 2009 at 8:22 pm

At least with video games you know where your kids are for next 8 hours! LOL. Gotta find the positive, they are staying out of trouble.

Simon Wilby · August 11, 2009 at 12:17 am

At least they are safe at home playing with their laptops.

I can’t believe he’s playing with his backpack still on! That’s so LOL

Reminds me of the female comedienne I heard once explain that that’s the reason the signs say NUDE NUDE NUDE and GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS — you have tell men something three times before it sinks in :)

My 12 year old son has become addicted to wow so much so I had to suspend his account as he was up all night after being put to bed for school playing on his laptop.

And it’s the same with his friends they stay in all weekend playing wow when it’s a beautiful day outside, what has the world come to

Sonam Lama · April 3, 2011 at 10:25 am

“He can’t hear me. He has selective man hearing, even at aged nine it’s highly developed. BOYS!!” lol that is too funny. Yup that’s the power of WoW because you can play with or against your friends and thats when you’ll feel the rush and excitement. I wonder if they’ve seen this site on leveling rogues over at WoW Rogue Guide? I mean they seem like cool kids so I’m sure they have, but if not these guides could really help them out and allow them to have more fun.

Joel · June 22, 2011 at 7:51 am

He kept his backpack on? That is funny. World of Warcraft can be dangerously addicting. If you are serious into it then you could try using a WoW macro guide for PvP.

colinjdj3 · February 16, 2012 at 9:58 pm
