Thanks for all of your holiday suggestions a few posts ago. We still haven’t decided what to do (most likely nothing extended). We have a 3 day backbacking trip planned in July (20km in and 20km out with 40lbs on my back) and a camping trip in August (tent trailer with 4 kids). I’d kind of like a holiday that doesn’t involve quite so much work.

Last year we had the BEST family holiday ever (I am not being paid for this endorsement – but it’s not a bad idea – hint-hint –> Sunshine Houseboat Vacations).

Little Bit of Paradise
The accomodations – it sleeps 16 so plenty of room for friends and/or extended family!

Building Castle with Great Grandma
There were great beaches EVERYWHERE, check out Liz and Sam building a sandcastle with Great-Grandma (my grandma). We had four generations on board ages 5 months to 74 years.

Sam on Houseboat
When we weren’t hanging out on the beach or in the water, we were on the upper deck “driving” the boat and warming up in the hot-tub. Oh yeah, this baby had everything including a BIG waterslide off the back end.

Georgia on Beach 2
Keeping Georgia dry wasn’t easy. We had a whole pile of swim diapers along but on this particular day, a walk on the beach fully clothed turned into a skinny dip! Note: she kept on her Bical Grippers baby shoes.

Hayley and Brandon
This is my oldest daughter Hayley (and baby cousin Brandon). Hayley doesn’t get much coverage on this site not being a baby and all, BUT even she rates this as her #1 vacation (over Disney, south of France, Spain and other worldly locations that my lucky girl has travelled to).

Nights on the Beach
At night, we relaxed by the campfire on whatever deserted beach we decided to park our luxury sleeping quarters.

So if you want a great holiday where your cell phone won’t ring and the laptop will be of no use, then call my friends at Sunshine Houseboat Vacations. Tell them I sent you :). Who knows they may just give me a discount for our next trip, which won’t be this year but will definitely happen again (and again and again).

So I am no Pioneer Woman (takes the best pictures), but feel free to click on the images above to visit my flickr photos and see some more houseboating pictures. Leave me a comment on Flickr – you know I love comments!

* * *
In the spirit of houseboating and water – Day 16 is Swim Diapers day.

We’re giving away a Bummis SWIMMI / Cloth Diaper Cover. If you use cloth diapers you can use this cover over them, if not this is a swim diaper as well. It is recommended that you don’t use it for both purposes. I think once it has been exposed to the chemicals in the pool it doesn’t does function very well as a diaper cover.

Bummis Swimmi

* A trim and attractive design that has a terrific fit on any baby
* Interior polyester mesh for easy clean ups
* Coated nylon layer sandwiched inside that will hold in the messiest stuff a baby can throw at you!
* Fun, unisex cotton prints on the outside
* Adjustable Aplix closures for a snug and comfortable fit
* Stretchy soft lycra bindings to protect baby’s tender skin
* What should you put inside the SWIMMI? Absolutely nothing!

The winner gets one Bummis SWIMMI in the size of their choice (we’ll pick the print — just let us know who it’s for).

As usual, all you need to do to win is comment AND this part is optional (but hugely appreciated and most likely reciprocated) tell some friends (even one) — if you have a blog let all your readers know about our contest (they’ll love it) and if you aren’t a blogger tell your best friend, your mom, your neighbor! — Once you’ve told some one let me know who or leave me a link to your post in your comment.

Note: SWIMMI have been added to the MayMadness coupon promo for those of you interested in buying them.

I’m giving away a FREE product every day until the end of May. Read more here: Contest Details

Yay for swim diapers :-) It’s starting to get hot here and my kids love to spend the day at the pool… dd just turned one and will finally get to “play” in the pool with the big kids :-)

Richard · May 23, 2007 at 12:31 am

Hmm… never even heard of swim diapers….

Nicole · May 23, 2007 at 1:16 am

Yeah! Hate those disposable ones–love Bummis stuff! The brothers three are going to spend a lot of time splashing in the pool this summer. Can’t wait!

Houseboat sounds/looks divine…

tanyetta · May 23, 2007 at 1:31 am

perfect :)

Lorie · May 23, 2007 at 4:17 am

I actually told people about you several times this month and featured you on one of my new blogs I love to read! I would love a swimming diaper! Right now I have three in diapers so buying 3 different sizes of those disposable swim diapers would not be good. Thanks for this May Madness!

nikkapotamus · May 23, 2007 at 5:37 am

oh! a swim diaper! we’ve been looking for one of these! we live on the beach and those disposable ones are just so impractical (and bad for the environment too).
Love the houseboat vacation. what a unique idea. sure beats camping in the backyard.

Kait · May 23, 2007 at 6:18 am

What a cute little swim diaper. Love it!

Naomi · May 23, 2007 at 6:37 am

Your kids are gorgeous and that looks like a fantastic vacation idea.

Much More Than A Mom · May 23, 2007 at 7:13 am

Awesome! We’ve got some beach vacations planned this year and that would be perfect!

Magi · May 23, 2007 at 7:56 am

Since our summer vacation is going to be to the Gulf Coast beaches, we would love a swim diaper. Happy to link to you, too.

Deborah · May 23, 2007 at 7:59 am

I think the houseboat is a great idea for a vacation. I’ll have to suggest this to the rest of my family (reunion planned for next year).

I’ve told a few of my friends (Nikki and Alicia) about this site…no links to show for it. Although I did see that Nikki posted a comment on here a couple of days ago.

Does the Swimmi work just as well for a diaper cover as the Super Whisper Wrap??

michelle · May 23, 2007 at 8:09 am

Pick me! Pick me! I want a swimmie!

Your vacation last year sounds wonderful!

We would love a swimmi! Our daughter loves all things water related, and we are going to have a real yard when we move in 2 weeks (pause while I do my happy dance….) so we are really thinking back yard wading pool! Or frequent trips to the local pool….

liz- Monkey Kisses · May 23, 2007 at 8:55 am

First let me say that vacation looks AWESOME!!!!! if you dont mind me asking you can email me about this, or mabey i missed it but how much would something like that run???

P.S.. I think the swim diaper would be awesome!!!

Cherylyn · May 23, 2007 at 9:05 am

Don’t have a blog, would love one but hubbo is greatly worried about privacy issues, he’s afraid that someone might see our absolutly adorable kiddos and want them for themselves. You should see him in a mall, poor guy, to him a mall is just full of strangers dying to snatch our kids. Anyway, I digress. I have told my sis and a friend or two aobut the contest I just don’t want to tell too many people as i would like to win and don’t want too many competitors. Those swim diapers are just the last word in cute!

Aimee · May 23, 2007 at 10:35 am

It’s Juniper’s first summer and I already bought pool passes for her sister and myself. We need swim diapers!

Yan · May 23, 2007 at 11:11 am

We love the swim diapers we got from you few weeks ago, they are adorable :)

I have already post your awesome free give away on my online babies community when you first started. I also have it on my blog now: http://ilovemysweetbabies.blogspot.com/2007/05/i-won-i-won_23.html

Thanks again!

Pam · May 23, 2007 at 11:19 am

We need another swim diaper. I misplaced our one, have two others that don’t fit and am taking her swimming three times this week….more than one swim diaper is neccessary. And I’ll be telling my husband about this site but that won’t go very far so I’ll be posting it on an online forum of others moms I chat with with babies as well. And can I please have the swim diaper? I’m glad that they are added to the May madness so when I most likely don’t win one then I can buy them at a great price atleast ‘cuz we really need a couple more.

A · May 23, 2007 at 11:28 am

Oh, I NEED a swim diaper! (More than one, actually. I’ve got 4 in diapers.) We have a family outing the end of the month and I got everyone’s swimsuit. Just this morning I realized the 3 little ones are going to need a swim diaper instead. If I don’t win and do buy now I know where to find them!

Deborah · May 23, 2007 at 11:53 am

We always find out such wonderful things when we read your blog! Thanks for sharing. And pick me! Pick me!

Heather · May 23, 2007 at 11:54 am

I know our little one will love these. If I don’t win from you (sure hope I do), I’ll know which ones to buy. Cuz I trust you – I know they have to be the best.

Holly · May 23, 2007 at 11:57 am

What more can we all say? These are the best. You are the best.

Katie · May 23, 2007 at 12:43 pm

With four in diapers, I think Adria wins for the person who needs a swim diaper the most, but I would love one too! We’re having a water baby this summer.

Daisymom · May 23, 2007 at 12:53 pm

We totally need a swim diaper and I posted about how fun it is to win stuff on my blog! Yay!!!

Alison · May 23, 2007 at 1:45 pm

Well, I’ve only got one little boy in diapers, but he is a water maniac. An attractive, reusable swim diaper would certainly make my, err . . . his summer. Oh, and those house boat vacations look like a blast.

Mama K · May 23, 2007 at 2:19 pm

Enter me please! We live near the beach so a swim dipe is a neccessity. (We are also cloth diaper users.) I linked to you here: http://mamaknj.blogspot.com/2007/05/more-giveaways.html

Lacey · May 23, 2007 at 2:34 pm

I would love to stop using those disposable swim diapers. I have told several friends about your site. I hope they have been entering your giveaways. I also posted about your site at my blog http://me-lace.blogspot.com/

Rebecca P · May 23, 2007 at 2:45 pm

As the mother of five (17,16, 13, 6, and 2.5) and grandmother of a brand new little one, I would love to have one of these.

Laura · May 23, 2007 at 3:01 pm

I don’t need swim diapers..she is potty trained YAY…but wanted to stop in anyway. Maybe I will win something another day : ) Great pics by the way.

MonaB · May 23, 2007 at 3:32 pm

Wow! Great vacation photos, must try a houseboating trip myself oneday. Swim diapers sound great as my little one is going to be 3 months old and summer is almost here, so my husband and I plan to take the little one for her first swim!

Julie · May 23, 2007 at 5:55 pm

We’re going swimming tomorrow and my daughter could use another swim diaper in her collection, besides they outgrow them so fast!

Ann · May 23, 2007 at 6:52 pm

Taking my girls to the beach soon. This would come in pretty handy.

Janice · May 23, 2007 at 7:26 pm

Cool, my son is taking swim lessons, and I would love to try this swim diaper.

Great photos! My parents keep talking about a family houseboat trip.

Lisa · May 23, 2007 at 7:40 pm

I love swim diapers. We went on a houseboat trip 13 years ago with my parents and sister. My two oldest kids were 2 and 3. They had a blast they are either in their swimsuits or in just their underwear in every picture. We loved the hot tub and the waterslide. I have to talk to my family about going again.

Beth · May 23, 2007 at 8:02 pm

Swim diapers are great. Why spend so much money on the disposables when you can buy just one or two reusable ones for the same price as a package?

Pam · May 23, 2007 at 8:44 pm

I want ths swim diaper! I did pass on your website to my birthclub on babycenter so hopefully some of those gals will start checking out your site. But that means that my chances of winning something just decrease with more people checking it out so I feel like I kind of shafted myself!
