Just Look at This!
Does scenery get any better than this?
Or this?
More ski stuff … sorry, but that’s all we did … ALL Day! As you can see from the blue sky, it was a gorgeous day for skiing.
It was also a day of many firsts.
Sam and I skied our first Double Black today. It was steep, full of moguls and it was treed. The Sunshine trail guide says it is one of the meanest ways down the lower half of Goat’s Eye. I’d have to agree.
It dawned on me (just prior to taking this run), while watching the kids ski moguls (much better than I can), that it wouldn’t be long before they leave me behind. It was also was clear to me that I am a pretty good skier, who lags a little in the courage department. I decided that I really need to push myself a little more.
Georgia had a big day too! She had her first lesson, rode the magic carpet on her own and skied her first run. It was cute, cute, cute! I have the video of course! I actually have about a dozen, but I won’t subject you to all of them … maybe just one or two. I’ll have to go through and pick out the best once we are home.
My favorite video of the day is Lizzy skiing the Eagle’s Nest (my favourite run). She takes her dad (the camera man) for a little surprise rie right at the end. Love it!

Absolutely gorgeous scenery! I always love seeing pics of the mountains overseas, because we don’t have all the pine trees on our ski slopes.
Your kids are such good skiers! Wow! Totally awesome. Glad you can share this fun sport with them (even if they are better than you). :-)

LOL! Love the little “detour” at the end. What a beautiful place. Can’t wait to see the videos of Georgia! I am sure even she can ski better than I :)

I have never gone skiing before. I would surely run into a tree. In fact, I hit so many trees/poles/ditches when I was sledriding as a child that my parents eventually made me wear a helmet!

BeAuTiFuL! I would love to have half the talent your children do at skiing. I basically suck and am terrified of steep hills. I definitely wouldn’t get my money’s worth at Sunshine Village!
PS: How do you and your hubby manage taking all your children skiing? Do you take turns staying with Georgia?

It is so beautiful there. I’m so impressed with your kids’ skiing ability. I’m sure I would have smacked into the first tree I came to.

Wow! If only I could get up the courage to try skiing again. I have no qualms about snowboarding, but I had one bad skiing accident and that was it for me. Sounds like you guys are having a blast. Is it Spring Break there? Or are you guys just taking a well deserved break?

love the video with Lizzie’s short-cut at the end! aren’t those Magic Carpets the best invention? we were stuck with those dangerious ropetows and T-bars!! We just got our 2yo a cool harness for skiing. (Lucky Bums) After seeing how pretty it is up there we may have to take a Canadian Vacation!
