June Jive – Day 2 FREE SunSmart UV Protection Suit

The past couple of days have been gorgeous, with temps today reaching 28c (or 82f). It has been hard to stay indoors and get any work done and even harder convincing Georgia to stay in. She just doesn’t get that I can’t be outside every minute of the day. Earlier this week she sucessfully broke through the screen of our french doors and escaped! I was going to show you the damage, but then I noticed how dirty my windows looked are and decided just to tell you about it instead. As you’ve seen in Georgia’s photos, she is very fair and I worry about her in the sun. It seems like every day you hear more scary stories about skin cancer and harmful UV rays.

You can image how thrilled I was this morning when these great UV protection suits arrived by courier! I was even more thrilled when I realized that they had included a FREE UV protection suit for our June Jive contest. Thank you – SunSmart our first sponsor!

Today you can win this:

2007-Superman-1 Piece

(If you have a girl, I will be happy to exchange it for the SuperGirl UV protection suit).

Sun Smart makes the cutest Superman Sun Protection One Piece Swimsuit. The fabric is 97% UV Fabric, is
Lightweight, has 4 way stretch, UVA/UVB tested for wet and dry results. Drys quickly to make it All Day Wear!

No Chemicals added. Comes with terry-velour towel/cape.

Georgia had hers on ALL day today. We had tons of compliments and more importantly she was safe from the sun. When I took it off for her bath she cried for me to put her “snowsuit” back on.

If you are like me I find it hard to remember to pack the sunscreen, reapply the sunscreen and I find UV protective clothing to be a very easy and effective way to protect my children from harmful UVrays.

To be eligible to win this cute UV protection suit you need only leave a comment AND tell me how you’d make good use of this great prize.

Here is a short movie for kids about the importance of sun protection:

Coming from Australia where the sun is vicious, we teach our children very early to protect themselves from the damage the sun can cause. What a brilliant product! Not only does it protect the skin of our most precious little ones, but the towel cape means there’s more room in the beach bag for other essentials! Since Miss Two and a half has started swimming lessons, I know we could put this one to good use…and be the envy of everyone at the pool at the same time!

I love the Superman suit- what little boy doesn’t like a cape. If I don’t win this, I may just have to buy one…

  • nikkapotamus June 2, 2007, 6:14 am

ohmygosh! that towel cape is SOOOO adorable!
we live on the beach and we’re starting to take our almost two year old in the mornings (before the sun becomes a death ray at noon) and this would be so great.

  • Marlo June 2, 2007, 7:12 am

The Superman cape is awesome. When I was little we had similar capes to run around in. What a great idea to make it uv protectant. We would love it!!

  • Mary C June 2, 2007, 7:48 am

Yep, my little Superboy definitely needs one of these!

  • Mama K June 2, 2007, 7:48 am

Oh we need this! We live 10 min from the beach and spend a lot of time there in the sun. And the hubby is a Superman fan to boot!

  • hmama June 2, 2007, 8:20 am

Love the new banner. My little superboy needs one of these too. Too cute!

  • Julie June 2, 2007, 8:30 am

What a great idea! We live close to an outdoor pool which we are hoping to spend some time at this summer so that sun suit would come in very useful!

  • Jen the Mom June 2, 2007, 10:00 am

I love that there’s a cute Super Girl version too. I don’t have a girl that small anymore but I think it’s adorable in pink.

  • Mary-Jo June 2, 2007, 10:30 am

My little boy is really into dressing up in costumes right now and loves the beach ( of course) so this superman suit would be puuuurfect!

  • Naomi June 2, 2007, 11:45 am

Well, I think you’ve read about how much Roo loves She-Ra on my blog. She’s been wanting a cape but all the ones we’ve come up with apparently aren’t right. My parents live down the street and have a pool so we walk over a couple times a day and the sunsuit would be awesome for the scorching hot Kansas summer we’re expecting.

  • Yan June 2, 2007, 12:20 pm

Oh, perfect timing, I was just about to buy my kids one, we got one for my son last year and it’s so cute and functional!

  • Jamie June 2, 2007, 12:32 pm

My youngest daughter is very fair and also a wiggly worm…this would be great for our upcoming beach trip and for trips to the pool!

  • Richard June 2, 2007, 1:35 pm

Love the new site design… my girls are a little too young to be superheroes, but I’m certain the suit will come in handy soon enough!

  • Deb June 2, 2007, 2:25 pm

Hmm…how would I make use of it? Well, I have 3 girls, so after it’s done fitting daughter #1, it’ll be passed down the line to #2 and then #3. And then probably given to a friend or one of my sisters for their kids.
    Neat idea!

  • Colleen June 2, 2007, 2:25 pm

Your new banner is super cute. We use spray-on suncreen (my kids can usually stay put long enough to apply this), but a UV blocking suit would be awesome. Thanks for continuing your giveaway into June!

  • Lorie June 2, 2007, 2:37 pm

Oh I love it! I have boy/girl twins and if I win the boy one, I’d have to buy the matching girl one!!! We go to the pool in the summer and probably would use it there, but you know it probably would be fun to play dress up in too!

  • Cherylyn June 2, 2007, 2:45 pm

I agree with Colleen the spray-on sunscreen has made my life way easier, but my youngest is very fair and you cannot be safe enough. I would use this with him when we hit the ledge wading pool, the spray park in Beaumont or running through the sprinkler in the backyard should we ever get it grassed. Plus, when you are a super-hero, it’s so much more fun to get dressed, even for little boys that prefer to be nude! If idon’t win it, I may suggest it to my M-I-L for a birthday present!

  • Montserrat June 2, 2007, 3:50 pm

Who says fashion can’t be functional as well?

  • Montserrat June 2, 2007, 3:51 pm

Forgot to mention I love the new look of the blog!

  • laura June 2, 2007, 3:53 pm

Gosh, that’s the cutest thing ever! It’s nice that their suits are actually *fun* to wear!

  • Magi June 2, 2007, 7:06 pm

Oh please don’t let me be too late. This is adorable. My husband is a huge comic book geek. We have every Superman, Superboy, Supergirl comic book and knick-knack. He would die to see our daughter in this.

  • katie bowen June 2, 2007, 7:23 pm

This is the best idea! Aren’t there just the cutest kid outfits nowadays…for sun protection when i was little my parents made us wear an oversize t-shirt…not anymore! Good Luck everyone!

  • Lisa June 2, 2007, 7:35 pm

superman is perfect for my super guy. What a great idea. He can be protected from the sun and wear something he likes. SUPER product.

  • Mimi June 2, 2007, 7:37 pm

The SuperGirl suit would be perfect for my lill’ blondie with blue eyes!! She loves to be outdoors but I need a good protection for her…

  • Christine L. June 2, 2007, 8:12 pm

My boys were out today, running through the sprinkler in their UV suits…. but my little girl doesn’t have one yet…. I’ll have to look at one for her!! What a great product!!

  • Laura June 2, 2007, 8:42 pm

Hey..my daughter is Chinese so she tans very easily but I still lather her up in sunscreen. I think it is easy to forget how important it is to be protected. What a great product.
