I Need a Vacation … (& Last Five Questions)

Published by on

Up @ 5:30 and on my feet all day. I was going to blow off the blog tonight, but I just can’t do it!

Below is the second installment of ‘Last Five Questions’? That’s where I answer your last five questions regardless of what they are.

#1- no chocolate before what age?…and, why is it that bribing is not a good parenting tactic?

Crap … there’s an age rule for chocolate? Could someone not have let me know?

I think that wee little bribes lead to BIG OLE bribes that could lead to car payments and delayed retirement (just imagine this … if you pass remedial math … we’ll buy you a car).

#2 – Books are good right? He also enjoys playing with a puzzle box he has. It’s the only puzzle he has so I bought a few new ones from thebabymarketplace. Have you heard of that online store ;-)

Books are very good! I am loving: Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. Georgia loves books too and puzzles! I think I have heard of that great online store … hmmm … sounds so familiar.

#3 – Some of her favorite times are going to the dump with her Papa (gross, isn’t it?)

I loved going to the dump as a kid! As a really little girl I lived in northern Alberta. The dump was a great place to see bears. My dad often bought us a soft ice-cream on a Sunday afternoon and drove us to the dump for ‘real live bear show’.

#4 – Do Sam & Lizzy get jealous that she goes and not them???

They don’t seem to. Especially Sam, he generally prefers to stay home. Georgia, however, DOESN’T like to be the one left at home!

#5 – I think I would remove the background as its a little distrcating with the clothes ,but not do the shadow- Can you farm it out?

Probably … but I don’t think I will. While I agree they’d look better with white background. I think they’ll do!

I think ‘Last Five Questions’ may become a regular feature. If you want juicier posts, then you’ll have to ask juicier questions.

I am having another contest! For another pair of Bical Grippers. A bit boring, but I am LAZY (been that way for quite some time … a whole life time in fact). I will draw the winner on Friday, March 21st, 2008 (@ some time). All commenters from now until draw time will be entered to win.

Would you tell a friend? Please? See that little facebook thingy just below this post? That’s a great way to tell your friends!

I used to go to the dump with my dad. We didn’t see any bears though. Just a few stray cats.

The dump here in the middle of landlocked Kansas has a ton of SEABIRDS! It is the weirdest thing. No lake or body of water, but there they are.

One of my daughter’s grandpas loves going to the dump so I imagine he’ll start taking her, too, at some point. He often reminisces about his childhood visits to the dump!

I like the five questions posts. I’m glad they are sticking around.

The dump. I never really enjoyed going to the dump with my dad. It was a smelly thing. Although I did enjoy seeing the trucks move around all that garbage and it really was a good game of Ispy. Ispy a mattress! oh and look a highchair!

well maybe being exhausted, frustrated, and ready for a glass of wine (at 9AM) is going around…i’m just thankful the psyco boy is napping and i get a short break to collect my sanity.

I’m crossing my fingers and toes to win the Bical contest… lol. My 3 yo has outgrown both pairs we got her last year and paddling season is starting up so she needs water shoes.

chocolate mmmm. well, my plan was to NOT give any chocolate to my 1yo until, i dunno, not for a while. but during one of my lack of control moments when i was downing handfuls of chocolate chips, one dropped and her little fingers grabbed it…i could read her eyes asking for more (or was it ‘you ate them ALL?)

That is good they do not get jealous. My kids all love to go!!

Sorry you had to answer two of my rhetorical questions. I was joking, of course, particularly about bribing…I like to think of what I do as more along the lines of “healthy/creative manipulation”. I’ll have to think of some better questions in the future. :)

First, thanks for putting my comment in your 5 questions….it’s funny, actually, when we lived in northern Ontario we would quite often go see the bears at the dump too..it’s quite funny that my daughter is now continuing on this “legacy” with my dad..except I don’t think there are any bears at the dump here :(
