The kids have been away from home for a week. YEAH Oh boy do I miss them! They are on their way home as I type.
I’ve cleaned house, read books, steam cleaned carpets, uploaded all of my Alaska photos and most importantly I slept and slept and slept until I couldn’t sleep anymore. It was fabulous, and then it back fired on me. My body has decided to catch up on being awake, so each night for the past two or three nights, I fall asleep about midnight and wake up at DAWN.
Sure, it sounds like no BIG deal to you, but you don’t like in Northern Alberta. Where dawn today was: 4:56 a.m. (actually that was civil twilight, actually sunrise was 5:41 (that’s full sun in the sky)). I was up at civil twilight. Who even knew there was such a thing?
Saturday when I awoke at civil twilight, I decided to get up and finally do the Pioneer Woman’s photography assignment (from last year), ‘get up early’.
I’d actually forgotten what the assignment was, but I knew it involved taking photo’s outside in the wee hours of the morning. So that is what I did.
I love pansies. I love blurred backgrounds. I love green blurred backgrounds the most.
Still loving pansies and blurred green backgrounds.
It had rained just a few hours earlier. I love those water drops.
I don’t even know what kind of flower this is, but it’s pretty all covered in raindrops isn’t it?
I’d love to see some of your summer photos. Leave me a link to your blog in the comments or your flickr page.

Beautiful photos! I’m glad you made it worth being up that early, because I certainly wouldn’t have.

These are excellent pictures as well! I can still remember your Alaska photos, and those were amazing too. Love that you were able to capture even the small rain droplets on the petals. Thanks!

Is the last photo is a type of orchids flowers? They are lovely.
You have a real talent for photography, these are beautiful. I love the close up with faded background look, and you pulled it off beautifully.
There really isn’t much civil at that time of day, is there?
On the other hand, these pictures are LOVELY. Your crazy sleep is our reward.
