I conveniently put aside all of the work piling up for me at home and spent the afternoon at my Grandma’s farm.
It was a rainy, cold afternoon. Autumn has definitely arrived. Georgia loves to play with my Grandma’s Swedish horses and Grandma doesn’t mind.
Then again, who gives a hoot about rain when there are real horses outside. Georgia climbed this fence on the look out for the ‘baby horse’ Great Grandma promised was waiting outside.
It wasn’t until we made our way through the barnyard and climbed another fence that Georgia finally spotted the wee filly! She was excited.
HURRY Mom!
It’s now that I should tell you that Georgia loves animals, but animals don’t always love Georgia.
Today was different.
Today, we called her the horse whisperer!

Hey Kim.
I love your photo stories.
@Lesley –> Thanks Les! My auto-focus stopped working today. I had a hard time focusing each shot, neither Georgia or the horse were cooperating (with me anyway).
How sweet! I’m amazed Georgia got that close to the filly without her running away. Love it!
@Safire, I was amazed too! However, Elizabeth told me, “MOM, that baby is friendly to everyone. Georgia is NOT a horse whisperer!”
Then Georgia screamed like a banshee, because she was already designing her business cards.
HA!
Wow, usually they are so skittish! The little Horse Whisperer!! I like it.
@Leslie, I know! She’s very pleased with herself!
Lovely! You’re so lucky to live in a place with all that space!
@Pauline Graham, Thanks Pauline! I am rather lucky when it comes to wide-open spaces :)
Wow,
What a great way to spend an afternoon!
@Justine, It really was! Thanks for stopping by.
So cute! I’m always fascinated with animal-children chemistry. I recently watched this video on youtube which shows 2 beautiful babies and their black dog playing with them while the mom’s recording the video-confident enough that their dog won’t bite/scratch her babies. Samet thing as this!
By the way, I love her boots!
@Mitch, Thanks Mitch! I appreciate you stopping by and your comment!
@Ashley, Thanks Ashely!
LOVE this series of pics. Well done! xoxo
@Jodi Renshaw, Thanks Jodi. I am so happy you stopped by. I hope you had a great time in FL.
