Busy and bothered …
We’re so busy …
We finally put our tree up last weekend, while Mr. MK put on the lights … I baked 15 dozen cookies to take to a cookie exchange .
I am so not the Betty Crocker type and don’t like to cook/bake … so this is a BIG deal. These cookies are so easy, I was a little bit embarrassed to take them. I am keeping my fingers x’d they invite me back next year.
We’ve had bit of a flu/cold thing going around.
Poor Sam is home today with a 102 fever and flu, all while recovering from an abscessed tooth.
I turned 40 yesterday – Yahoo! It’s the new 20 you know? Don’t be jealous … you’ll all get there (you hope!) Psst … if you don’t it’s REALLY BAD NEWS!
The only damper on the Birthday fun –> I am still dealing with this!
It’s going to be a lean Christmas here this year! We want to make Christmas less materialistic (not to mention my house is overflowing with JUNK)! Nobody says it better than my friend Heather @ ohmystinkinheck!

I really plan to get back on before Christmas with some festive photos, but just in case I don’t, I want to let you know about the next great give-a-away.

Sorry about the flu and cold – we had a week of barfing followed by a week of colds. Sigh.
That bag is SWEET!
*Runs off to post about it*
OMSH · December 21, 2007 at 3:38 pm
Ooooh! If I get the bag I’m gonna give it away on my blog. HA! I love those bags!
I’m so sorry there is flu in your house. I got so tired of all the puke and fever going on around here a couple of weeks ago. We’re glad to be on the downhill side of that.
And? Your birthday?! Way to make it to the new 20!! I have 5 more years and I’ll be right there with you.
Heather · December 21, 2007 at 3:42 pm

Thanks for picking me again, I *love* those babylegs, the girls look so stinkin’ cute in them. Ha, I notice you didn’t ask me for my address… burned into your brain already, eh?
Amanda · December 21, 2007 at 7:15 pm

I am off to blog about your contest now! I could really use a new diaper bag for baby #2 – the overgrown backpack is getting old ;)

Happy Birthday to you!!
Definitely could use a new bag, mine is an old MEC kids bag pack that fits a few cloth diapers, my wet bag and little else!! Then again the thing is indestructible – 10 years old or more and still looks great!
Jenny M · December 21, 2007 at 11:11 pm
I hope everyone feels better at your house. I’ve got an idea for your cookie exchange next year- http://www.recipezaar.com/52035
Oreo Truffles- so easy to make=) This and dog biscuits to give to my friends are the only holiday baking that I do.
Lean Xmas is great! Less to put away and see littered on the botoom of the toy box later.

I am currently using a pink 9.00 bag from Target that has white & denim striped handles that I bought when Harlie was about 6 months old and she is now over 18 months old.. Okay, Sweets – You KNOW I blogged about you!! Although I didn’t use the link, I copied and pasted part of your post & put your sites all over!! Anything for an online buddy – especially one that gives freebies – haha! (I would do it regardless) Maybe you hypnotize us with those kids of yours’ eyes!! They are all something special!! Sam’s eyes are the darkest blue I have ever seen. Jalyn’s are so light & Sam’s are so dark – it is crazy that blue eyes can have such a big range!! You are gonna have fun with his girlfriends one day :)
Lisa · December 22, 2007 at 12:07 am

Un échange de biscuits, quelle bonne idée! Je songe à intégrer quelque chose dans le genre pour Noël prochain.
Noreen · December 22, 2007 at 1:16 pm
cute bag!!
The cookie look good and I am sure everyone while like them. I always wanted to do a cookie exchange but I am the only one who bakes so I have no one to trade with :)
Deb · December 22, 2007 at 3:39 pm
Ohh! I love the bag! I’ll add your linking code to my blog (even though it’s already there). :)
As for the cookies, do not be ashamed!! I went to my kid’s Xmas programs yesterday – we had to bring baking. Some fantastic person brought those cookies just like you made. I think I ate half of them. (New Year’s resolution: work on self-control!!!)
Happy Belated birthday!!

Cute bag. Mine is plain black and so boring. I hope I win.
Tracy · December 24, 2007 at 12:14 am
Those bags look great. I don’t even have a diaper bag I just use what I have handy but I would love ones of those.
lace · December 26, 2007 at 9:11 pm
The taste of the cookies is what matters. I have had some of the prettiest cookies that made you want to run to the bathroom and spit out all of the offending bits from the inside of your mouth. And then brush your teeth just to be sure you still can’t taste it.
I hope everyone gets over their sickies.
jenB · December 29, 2007 at 1:57 am
I miss you. So I ordered some stuff. Not the same, but we should get together soon. If only so I can enjoy a lovely bowl of soup and glass of water.
I hope the holidays were good to you, in every way.
xoxo
Heidi · December 31, 2007 at 9:04 am
Oh, I LOVE that bag. Not only do I love purple, but I could really use something trendy like that to carry my little guy’s diapers around in. And, with only a little over 2 years to go ’til I reach “the new 20”, I need all the trendy help I can get.
Sign me up!
