Ahh Crap! I wish I’d never found out …

Published by on

I spent the morning working from my kitchen table.

I need a real office!
It’s difficult with all my hooligans home, but the alternative, working @ my desk and ignoring them –> invariably turns out worse!

I don’t know what that $10 is doing there. Hmmm … unless one of the kids was trying to bribe me in to making some lunch. Hmmft … it’ll cost you more than that buddy!

I so didn’t want to go and pack orders today, but ALL (every single one) of my staff managed not to come to work. To waste a little time, I decided you needed to be aware of the state of my work space and I started taking pictures of my kitchen table desk.

After I shot my desk, I turned the camera on myself. *sigh*

I have NEVER been a lover of the way I look. I am well aware that I have ‘droopy’ eyes. It has crossed my mind that my chin is rather large. I am terrible about keeping my hair appointments, which means I spend most of my life having a ‘bad hair day’. A glimpse of my double chin can make me run for cover. I am learning to live with the wrinkles that come with the ‘new 20′ (ok, ok … I know I’m 40).

However, never once, EVER … has it crossed my mind that I have a BIG STINKIN’ NOSE, but I DO! I have evidence …

Holy Stinkin' Big Nose
I could have lived happily, NEVER knowing! Freakin’ Nikon! Damn Lens!

Your eyes are gorgeous!!!

Divrchk · January 3, 2008 at 9:31 pm

I think that you look great!

Angella · January 3, 2008 at 9:37 pm

I think you are BEAUTIFUL!

And way too hard on yourself…like most of us women ;)

glittersmama · January 3, 2008 at 9:55 pm

Your eyes are way more eye-catching than your nose. And it’s so not big.

Noreen · January 3, 2008 at 9:57 pm

You look great!!

Kilikina · January 3, 2008 at 10:18 pm

Well I don’t agree with any of what you posted about yourself but you have beautiful piercing blue eyes! Your daughter does too!

Justine · January 3, 2008 at 10:23 pm

Now I feel really bad, if I had come into work then you would not have been playing with your camera at the table!

Your nose is not too big, take it from someone who has spent many a happy hour chatting at that kitchen table. It is completely in proportion with your face. I wish that I had your complexion!

I have finished a couple of books, so I will bring them tomorrow to help distract you further so that you don’t analyse your photos.

jw4mkc · January 3, 2008 at 10:47 pm

Well, the great skin & eyes on your kids definately came from you! Hopefully they will have the same great teeth! I found out I had a long, not big, (the boy was very specific) nose by a boyfriend in high school. I was clueless til then. Now, I am not a huge fan of my ‘long’ nose, but oh well! It is mine.
Okay..again.. look at my blog – Hey I might have to join the 365 thingy since you are making me blog everyday :)

Tasha · January 3, 2008 at 11:13 pm

Well, I see who the kids got their blonde/blue eyes from. PS – I don’t think ANYBODY actually likes their nose!

Michelle · January 3, 2008 at 11:31 pm

You don’t look forty at all!! I hardly see any of the wrinkles I’ve got. Especially the ones between my eyes from scowling at all the stupid things my 5 year old has been doing lately!!

bree · January 4, 2008 at 12:09 am

thats the one thing on my face I would change! I cant stand my nose- I think it came from all the years my sister telling me I had a big nose, because I made fun of her buck teeth…but HEY! she got braces, mom and dad wouldnt pay for a nose job! so not fair! humpfh! But I have to say, you do not have a big nose at all! its your Nikon…you need a Canon babe hehe :)

Lisa · January 4, 2008 at 12:12 am

I think that you look great!! 40 is getting younger every year right??

Amanda · January 4, 2008 at 4:43 am

There is NO way that any of us would have ever guessed you were forty if you hadn’t told us! Must have just been the camera angle (you know how they shoot upwards to make people look better, etc).

Safire · January 4, 2008 at 6:58 am

I think you look fabulous! :)

Heather · January 4, 2008 at 7:13 am

I think you’re beautiful and you passed on your beautiful blue eyes to your children.

Susy-Q · January 4, 2008 at 7:27 am

Wrinkles? Uh…I’m 31 and I have more than you! Those blue eyes of yours make up for any imperfections you might perceive (and I say “perceive” because I don’t see any!).

Kait · January 4, 2008 at 8:11 am

I hate my own pictures too. Instead of a double chin, I have a “butt chin”. You know, one of those masculine clefts that looks like a butt? Thanks, Dad!

mama k · January 4, 2008 at 11:28 am

You forgot the pretty eyes and perfect teeth! :)

I am critical of my pictures too. I suppose that is the way it goes.

Carissa · January 4, 2008 at 12:01 pm

i see where your daughter gets those gorgeous eyes! your look great! don’t be so hard on yourself.

Jaime Stephens · January 4, 2008 at 12:29 pm

I bet you still get ID’d! You definitely don’t look 40 that’s forsure.

blondie · January 4, 2008 at 2:18 pm

Mom trust me your nose IS NOT big…

Naomi · January 4, 2008 at 4:21 pm

Kim, you have unbelievable skin for your (our!) age and the same gorgeous coloring as your lovely kids. And without makeup, from the looks of it.

Silly billy!

Naomi · January 4, 2008 at 4:22 pm

By the way, even your money is pretty…

T · January 4, 2008 at 5:42 pm

Your “desk” looks just like mine, right down to the Int’l Delights creamer! That’s my favourite flavour :)

Deb · January 4, 2008 at 10:56 pm

I think anyone’s nose would look big if they took a close up like that! :) I would trade for your wrinkle-less skin in a heartbeat. (and I am still in my 20s). barely.

I had a facial done once (and only once) and the lady kept commenting that I had way too many wrinkles for my age. …sigh…

Jenny M · January 4, 2008 at 11:47 pm

Gorgeous blue eyes and wonderful skin and your hair is a great color! No worries – I can see where your kids got their good looks from=)

Diane · January 5, 2008 at 12:36 am

Beautiful self portrait

Heatherk · January 5, 2008 at 9:07 am

I think we have the same nose! lol. Used that kick-ass coupon to get dd some bday presents. thank you! Took me a second to realize you’re in Canada when I was thinking…hmmm…I don’t see any money in that pic.

Alexia · January 5, 2008 at 7:18 pm

I think you look just fine! Georgia looks alot like you!

I totally missed the $10 LOL I’m so used to boring American money…I wish I could have pretty colors…maybe I’d keep it longer :D

Heather · January 6, 2008 at 1:12 am

I think your eyes are a gorgeous blue! I blogged your giveaway at my site. Have a great day!

Jamie · January 6, 2008 at 9:52 am

Your nose isn’t big at all!

I think there’s always something that we don’t like about ourselves…

Amy · January 6, 2008 at 10:22 pm

Totally don’t look 40!

Caryn B · January 6, 2008 at 11:09 pm

Not at all….you’re too harsh on yourself…

Cindi Hoppes · January 7, 2008 at 4:05 pm

Honestly, I wish I looked half as good as you without makeup! Cindi

Becky · January 8, 2008 at 12:44 am

Thanks for the giveaway.

liza · January 9, 2008 at 10:27 am

I don’t think you nose is big, you have gorgeous eyes..;)

laurie · January 9, 2008 at 1:56 pm

that is NOT a huge nose. i’ve seen huge noses, and that isn’t one of them. :) besides, who notices a nose when someone has eyes your color?!

Monique · January 9, 2008 at 2:58 pm
