DIY Halloween Craft – The Coolest & Creepiest Potion Labels – FREE

Published by on

The kids had friends over Friday evening to do some Halloween crafts. I decided to get into the Halloween spirit and decorate the dining room (just a little bit). They were very excited. It takes so very little … I should do it more!

We covered most ALL of our kitchen jars and canned goods with these free printable labels from Love Manor.

How cool are these?

Sam and his buddies loved them. Unfortunately, all our dry goods are back on the counters with creepy labels still intact and it looks like the only thing cooking in my kitchen is witch’s broth (DON’T even go there!)

This jar of my Grandma’s spicy peppers, labelled ‘Human Flesh’ gives me the heebie-jeebies (BLeCk!)

There is a HUGE selection that can be downloaded from Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lovemanor/sets/72157602788222231/

Truthfully, I don’t like Halloween, so any effort made on my part is welcomed by the kids. This year, I am trying NOT to say, that I dislike Halloween out loud. No point in everyone having a horrible time. So far so good! The power of pretend goes a LONG way!

The good news is, Sam and Liz are finally past wanting to be cute Disney characters! Lizzy’s costume has been under construction for days. I have high hopes.

Halloween ideas and goodies will be showing up here all week. I’d love it if you’d come on by :)

Are you dressing up for Halloween? Are your kids? What as? I want to know.

My two girls are going to be a fairy princess and a cat. My infant son is going as Yoda. You should see the hat on him!! I’ll be sure to post lots of pictures. :) Thanks for the Halloween links…when the kids are older I will surely do spooky things for them this time of year!

My girl is going to be an Indian (Pocahontas, Mom!) this year wearing the same costume I wore when I was about her age. My mom made it and I remember loving it. I thought I’d be all cute and matchy with the twins and they could be cowboys to her Indian but I couldn’t find any cowboy hats for them that I liked. So I went with coon skin caps and they will be mountain men to her Indian. I will be a princess (keep an eye on my blog for pictures of my most awesome dress!) and hubby will be Westley from the Princess Bride. I only like Halloween when it’s happy and cute…I hate the scary stuff. Plus, I love candy!

Hey Kim. These labels are super cool!! I just may have to download a few of them. I know what you mean about the kids outgrowing the cutesy costumes. Now they want to be creepy and gross though. Not sure which I prefer, though doing the makeup is kinda fun. Lucy went to a party this past weekend as Gene Simmons – she looked AWESOME!!! I didn’t take any pics but I’ll take some when we do her up for halloween. Ciao for now!

This reminds me of the time back in the days when I used to drink a brand of tequila called “Black Death Tequila”… never really understood why one would name a tequila that. But at that point I thought it was pretty cool :P

I love these old bottles. My mother has a thing for centuries-old houses and moving barns at said houses (3 so far). Underneath all these barns are these bottles. Unfortunately, none of the labels lasted through the years, so all I have is the bottles themselves… Good stuff.

Cool labels Kim!! and as always you had made my day! You always make me laugh. My oldest son is super excited about Halloween!! he is going to be Optimus Prime (you know transformers!! go figure, he hasn’t even watched the movie!) my youngest is going to be a fire fighter, no costumes for papa or mama.

No problems with the comments :)

Talk to you soon

Love these labels, you are way more creative than me. Everything I get is store bought, pre made.

My son, is going as a ghost rider. Bought store costume, not very imaginative or unique but he wanted it, it was easy to get and has been put away for the past 2 weeks.

I hate dressing up and costumes, this year I am glad to say that I think I can get out of having to wear one at work this year. The most fun thing for me is seeing the kids dressed up, I take no pleasure having my own costume.

Do you have any ideas for what to take to school for classroom halloween party? Something spooky but easy to make.

Mommyknows – great idea again!

You have the best ideas. How did you decorate the outside of your house? I have hardly anything out there other than a pumpkin. I would love some inspiration.

Wow, what cool ideas. I just printed them all off and I am heading down to the dollar store to see what bizarre bottle shapes they have that I could use..

Thanks for sharing.

Wait until you see the label I put on my Habenero Salsa I’m making. It’s gonna be a guy sitting on the can and praying into the bath towel.
