The Anti-Shoe (coffee contest continues)

Published by on

Winner is: Robin in New Jersey —> email me @ kim (@) mommyknows (dot) com.

If I was doing NaBloShoeMo instead of NaBloPoMo, I’d tell you all about the shoes I bought today. The ones that are going to transform my ass, thighs, calves and posture. I can already feel the burn!

I’d get Mr. MK to take a picture of me in my new MBT Anti-Shoes. Like this one:

Shoethanasia
Umm … I’m pretending they are funky and hip, not sort of weird. You’ll want to pretend same, kay? Did I mention they help burn extra calories? They do so!

I’d copy witty and cool quotes from the MBT website to amuse you, make you want to go over there. Like this one:

We Support Shoethanasia
Shoes have outlived their usefulness because they can’t protect your back from hard surfaces. It’s time to say goodbye to shoes and hello to a healthy spine. Hello to toned muscles and strong knees. Hello to burning extra calories. We’d like to say goodbye and rest in peace, shoes. But it will be pretty darn hot where you’re going.

All comments and back-links for this post will be entered to win a $10 Starbucks Gift Card (includes shipping and handling) in my ‘Have a Coffee on Me’ Contest. If you comment and blog about the contest you’ll receive two entries (too easy). I have a whole ‘schwack’ of Gift Cards to give away, so make sure and come back often for a chance to ‘have a coffee on me’.

PSST –> Pee ess –> My legs don’t look that weird in real life. They’re bent a strange angle to please the photographer. HONEST!

heh…very…uh..cutting edge! ;) i am diggin the colors. we just moved to Bellingham WA, which is apparently a hippie sanctuary. I’m almost one, so i feel pretty comfortable, but I have noticed large numbers of women wearing either those shoes, or even more commonly seen, but MUCH more hideous, weird springy-thing shoes. though i’m not sure the latter claim extra exercise as a benefit. Given my recent abandonment of exercise/running perhaps i should contemplate some ‘anti-shoes’.

HI! I just popped over here from Miz Booshays. Saw your comment in the comment box and clicked on your name. I am always looking for new blogs to read!

So how do those shoes feel on your feet?

anastasia · November 6, 2008 at 6:01 am

I like your shoes.
I checked the website. They have great sandals.

My ad got a pair last month an his knee pain is gone!

Susy-Q · November 6, 2008 at 3:59 pm

The sole shape is definitely funky. I’d love to try a pair and see how different they feel to walk in. Does it take some getting used to?

Noreen · November 6, 2008 at 4:04 pm

You will have to tell us if they really work.

I like the design of the shoe bu the sole is too thigh for my liking. Love the colors! Keep us updated on your progress wearing them.

These have got to be the UGLIEST things I’ve ever seen in my life (all of MBT models acutally); I understand that they’re grossly overpriced too…

All they do is throw you out of balance in the hope to make you think you’re emulating the benefits of barefoot walking…NOOOOT! They’re nothing but a sprain ankle waiting to happen…

Hey I’ve got a pair of the brown mary jane style MBT. I bought them to help with back and leg pain, they are awesome. I have low back pain from herniated disc. It’s like they really do keep your posture right when you walk in them. After you get used to them the are great and yes you do feel those but muscle work the first few days.

Great post! I own a pair of MBT shoes and I like them a lot. They are very comfortable and I like the ability to burn extra calories while walking.
