Summer Catch Up (Part 1)

Published by on

June began with a cruise to Alaska.

We sailed from Vancouver, into a beautiful west coast sunset.

The sunrise’s were pretty spectacular too! Yeah, I know … the camera was just a little off kilter.

Our first stop was Ketchikan, this is the view pulling into port –> not a BIG metropolis, but you knew that already right?

All of the wild roses around town reminded me of home (Alberta –> wild rose country).

Only we don’t have totems!

I loved the trees growing out of this guys head.

My favourite part of Ketchikan was Creek Street.

Until the 1950’s this was Ketchikan’s red light district and all these buildings were brothels, now they are quaint shops.

Just yesterday, I uploaded/downloaded all my holiday images. They are disappointing and there are way too many.

Alaska is so fabulous and I’m afraid I haven’t done it justice.

nice pics! You were over in my neck of the woods a bit…we’re just over an hour south of Vancouver (in the US so I guess Vancouver’s not really OUR neck, ha)…. i’d love to do an alaskan cruise sometime in the not TOO distant future. :) heck, we still have yet to visit Vancouver, let alone getting around to a cruise!!

Wow, those are great pictures. I love that kinda stuff, local scenery, sunsets, sunrises.

But when you say that all those shops used to be brothels, I have to wonder… in such a small place, just how many brothels did they need?

I have missed your updates. So glad to have you back :) I have wondered about your health, missed your wit, etc.

Your trip looks amazing! I have to admit, I would have rather seen brothels than gift shops though. But I enjoy viewing the “seedy” side of life.

Keep the blog posts coming.
Love,
Jodi

The photos are worth the effort and everything. Do you exhibit your photos? They are professionally captured. The sunset and the sunrise are superb. Good shots!
