Hayley’s visa and passport were couriered to us late yesterday. *SIGH* I had sort of resigned myself to her spending a few more days at home and it was hard to let her go! I miss her already.

She was ready! Her suitcases were packed and repacked and then inspected by mom (and Grams). A couple last minute trips to the mall this a.m. (thanks Grandma) to find ‘visitor appropriate pj’s’ (OMGosh … you should have seen what she had packed ~ raggedy skimpy ole things!).

Sisters
Lizzy is down in the dumps … they shared a sister moment before we left for the airport.

Gone Country ...
Maggie was feeling a little blue too! I know how she feels … I sorta wanted to lay low myself.

Maggie is Hayley’s pooch. She needs A LOT of attention, which I tried to give her while Hayley was @ school, but I am a dog ‘liker’ not a dog ‘lover’. Sooooo, Maggie is going to live on the farm with Grandma while Hayley is away. Hayley bought her the John Deer T, so she won’t look too much like the ‘city-slicker’ she really is. She’ll have dog company on the farm and Grams doesn’t mind sitting around with a dog on her lap!

Maggie ... one damn cute dog!
I miss Maggie too! We’ll bring her home soon for a visit.

It was a tough morning and afternoon. I kept my hands busy wiping things (I like to wipe when I am nervous) and taking pictures.

Enough with the pictures Ma!
Hayley was getting fed up with my photo taking! Enough already Ma! How cute is she?

HOLY CRAP, time flies! You blink and they’re all grown up. Now, I will just wait around patiently for her to post @ musingsfromblondie.com. She was pretty thrilled with the few comments she received over the last couple of days so head on over and leave her a ‘bon voyage message’. Any comments left over there will count towards todays contest here, so you can get two entries for one. She was pretty happy with the finished blog! It was my first real attempt at a blog header and I thought it turned out pretty good!

To be the next winner (or maybe even win again), you need only leave a comment.

EVERY day in August I’m giving away free prizes (maybe more), but at least one. Just like in the past the winners will be randomly drawn and posted here on the site.

The winners will be able to choose one of any of the prizes listed on the flickr set: Anything Goes in August. Once an item is choosen, it will be removed from flickr and will no longer be available (unless I have two … which I do for some).

All you have to do to win each day’s prize is leave a comment on the most current post.

All prizes are provided by: www.thebabymarketplace.com in conjuction with www.mommyknows.com

How many times will you be clicking over to see if Hayley has posted anything? I think I would be checking every couple of hours if it was my child going to Brazil.

Cherylyn · August 11, 2007 at 7:06 pm

I get misty eyed thinking about my kids going to kidergarden, can’t quite imagine another country! Hope all goes so well!

Jaime Stephens · August 11, 2007 at 7:11 pm

What an amazingly proud Mommy you are. She’ll be home in no time… its hard enough for me to think that my girls will be heading to Kindergarten in a couple of years, let alone a whole new country. Our family is quite spread out (from Canada to New Zealand, Great Britain and Australia). Its hard having the distance but the internet makes it so much easier. I posted over on your daughter’s blog letting her know how proud you are of her, I hope it makes her smile.

How cute is that dog t-shirt?

Kami · August 11, 2007 at 7:58 pm

I hope that the next 10 months fly by! Given that the last 18 years have, it’s got to doesn’t it?!

:-)

So sad to think that my girls will grow up and fly the coop too! I have to compliment you – Hayley’s skin is gorgeous! I would pay big bucks for a complexion like that & especially when I was her age!

I can’t imagine how hard it is to let her go, but good for you – I would have loved to do that at her age, she’ll have such amazing memories.

Justine · August 12, 2007 at 10:29 am

Kim,

I know that this is hard on you but the great thing about technology is that you can keep totally up to date with her and see photo’s etc.

Hayley is a great girl and I know that she is going to have an awesome time over in Brazil.

Love the England T-shirt which she wore!

I will definately be checking in each day to see how she is going.

glittersmama · August 12, 2007 at 10:54 am

Maggie is such a cute puppy. I hope she has fun on the farm! I’m sure Hayley is going to have a blast!

Josie · August 12, 2007 at 11:15 am

It’s a hoot how they go from camera hogs to, “Mooooooommmm, that’s enough!” in what seems like so little time.

Nicole · August 12, 2007 at 11:22 am

I hope Hayley has a good time in Brazil.

Tasha · August 12, 2007 at 11:23 am
