Hideeho Blog Readers!

Did I really say, “Hideeho”? And did I really say I was giving away something FREE everyday in May? I did, didn’t I? Now don’t get your panties in a bunch, I am not backing out, nor am I regretting giving you FREE stuff. I’m just tired, gosh darned tired and I need the weekend off! It’s Mother’s Day … need I say more?

Here is the deal, I am going to list two prizes in this one post. When you comment you will have a chance to win them both. We will draw TWO names on Sunday night (9 pm’ish), the first name drawn will win the Saturday Prize and the second name drawn will win the Sunday Prize. Deal? Good!

Saturday Prize is:

Free recipe card for Sardine-Egg Canapes! I’m just kidding (bwahahaha – cracked myself up!) There are just too many funny blogs out there and I wanted to share that with YOU!

So the real prize is: FREE $25.00 Gift Card to www.thebabymarketplace.com

www.thebabymarketplace.com Gift Certicate

Note: secret gift code will be emailed to the winner.

Sunday Prize is:

Okay, ladies this is a good one … a REALLY good one! Happy Mother’s Day!

FREE Timi and Leslie Diaper Bag – Tag-a-Long Lucy

Timi & Leslie Diaper Bag

This Timi and Leslie Diaper Bag is only for the hip mommies out there (even if you not hip, if I draw your # you get the bag – no proof of hipness required).

Just look at all these features:

* Easy-to-clean vinyl coating

* Built-in strap attached to stroller

* Coordinated changing pad

* Multiple bottle pockets

* Organization compartments inside

* Easy-to-use magnetic snap closure

* Double strap

Note: due to the limited quantity of these bags, it may be necessary for me to substitute color! In otherwards we have a few available for sale … if they all sell by Sunday night then you may get another color (camo or ricky).

Once again all you have to do is comment.

However, as I said this is tiring me out, trying to figure out what to give away every day is a challenge and writing something to go with it is tough too! So for this comment I want your ideas on what you’d like to win in the coming days (www.thebabymarketplace.com) and any topics I should blabber on about while I am giving them away (questions from the audience please).

I’m giving away a FREE product every day until the end of May. Read more here: Contest Details

So, I see you found Salsa, those girls are the world’s cutest (can say that, I have boys!) I would love to see you give away wooden toys or swim diapers!!! Blabber more about cloth diapers, that’s what got me into thebabymarketplace in the first place. Now I come for the cool toys! A question, how do you choose which products you sell?

Angella · May 11, 2007 at 10:27 pm

Hideeho!

Pick me! Pick me! I never win ANYTHING! And that diaper bag is sweet :)

Those Sara shoes are pretty cute…

I’m new to your site, so I’m not sure what to ask :)

monkeysmom · May 11, 2007 at 11:03 pm

Wow. I think the diaper bags are awesome. I think you should give away one of the magnetic transport toys. I have a boy and I think they are pretty neat. I have never won anything in my life. I also have lots of friends having babies! :D

glittersmama · May 11, 2007 at 11:06 pm

I like being able to get something new for me under the guise of needing it for the baby. :) So…diaper bags/totes and baby carriers are good. I definitely wouldn’t turn down some cute shoes or nifty bibs.

As far as what to blab about…I really enjoyed the story about your little girl and “her” swearing issues. I love the personal stories.

jenB · May 11, 2007 at 11:57 pm

You are an amazing goddess making May fabulous. Thanks for the link. Sardines in any form make me want to hurl. Blah. That diaper bag is art. Seriously beautiful. Why didn’t I know about these when I was pregnant??? I would love to know how you find products and do you test them out? like those IKEA chair that have a robot sitting on them a gazillion times?

Richard · May 12, 2007 at 12:59 am

These giveaways are awesome! Now, just to win something….

Yan · May 12, 2007 at 1:06 am

Oh, I love that diaper bag :)
and what to give away next? I always wanted to get Manhattan Toy Ocean Deep Play Dome.
I love to read more about the new products you find and maybe thinking of getting.
Happy Mother’s Day !

nikkapotamus · May 12, 2007 at 7:02 am

OOH, super cute diaper bag. I know a new mommy who would just ADORE that bag.

As for free give aways, I too would love a new swim diaper for the season.

DaisyMom · May 12, 2007 at 7:35 am

Woohoo! Can I win more? I love this kind of thing! It reminds me of being little and playing Bingo! at a hotel with many older guests. They really didn’t appreciate the young kids coming to play Bingo! with them on the patio each day…

Joi · May 12, 2007 at 7:36 am

Oh Goodness. I love to hear about dealing with loved ones. For example, if my in-laws – who I love dearly! – don’t like something I have, they buy a new ‘whatever’ and give it to me as a GIFT. Christmas, new mixer & mixing bowls (already have both and nice, but they did’t like them). One birthday, new sheets for guest bed, because they did’t like the sheets we always had on it (they belonged to my husband when he was married before) and last birthday was new canisters for the kitchen, again, because they didn’t like the ones I had (again, they were hubby’s in his last marriage). Now.. I am glad they gave us new sheets and canisters, but like I said, US! – Why do these have to be MY presents for my bday or Christmas? So, for Christmas, I got a new diaper bag – It is HUGE!! Bigger than a ‘lake or swim’ bag! and it says Las Vegas ALL over it! I like Vegas, but for a diaper bag? and I use it, because I love them & dh says we are not buying a new one when we have one.. maybe he should carry this 60 lb. bag on one arm, a baby on the other, and trek up 2 stories of stairs, trying not to fall, heading to gymnastics with the 3 year old – in fashionable shoes!
PLEASE – I need to lose the Vegas bag and I LOVE all three of the bags, especially the Pink – I have girls, but the Ricky is awesome colors and my hubby is a Marine, so camo works for us too!
Okay.. I would like to see you give away another pair of the bical grippers, but this time one of the Converse looking ones – maybe the pink ones..hmmm? – My sister would die if I had those on Harlie, because she has a pair of converse just like them. You have so much awesome stuff!

So..more grippers & more stories .. well, like mine! I love to hear other peoples stories to make you empathize and maybe laugh and sometimes, make you thankful for what you have.. haha

kerflop · May 12, 2007 at 8:00 am

How did I miss the last couple? Pick me, pick me! :)

Susy-Q · May 12, 2007 at 8:02 am

That is one funky looking diaper bag and it would look great hanging off my shoulder! I have survived the last 9 months carrying my son’s diapers in an ugly, and very unfashionable, canvas tote bag. Need I say more? Oh, and if I win the gift certificate, I will probably get my sweet boy some cute little soft leather sandals.

I am glad I discovered this blog…the stories are great!

Lucy · May 12, 2007 at 8:32 am

Fun diaper bag. And my nephew just described me as young and hip, although I am not sure I totally agree with him. And gift certificates are always great!

hmama · May 12, 2007 at 8:53 am

Great idea with the gift certificate. My wish list is as follows;

1. babylegs in the orange/pink combo.
2. more training pants from Imse Vimse.
3. any shoe from Jack and Lily.
4. love the new See Kai Run Shoes!
5. my 8 month old daughter loves her new sloppy Peppa doll–so another one for her in the cream colour.
6. anything from Blu or Deux par Deux.
7. wrap sunglasses in red.
8. Fuzzi Bunz were my fav. cloth diapers from you, but i would try swaddlebees……
aahhhh the list could and should go on, but i am needed elsewhere. (of couse, who wouldn’t want that tote?!?)
happy mothers day!

Katie · May 12, 2007 at 9:31 am

Very cool giveaway… count me in!

Mary-Jo · May 12, 2007 at 9:38 am

Okay this is it, I am feeling lucky today…either of these prizes would be great! As for what I’d love for you to give away next hmmmm… how bout’ some of those beautiful See Kai run or shooshoo shoes! That would be amazing!

Lacey · May 12, 2007 at 10:08 am

This is a great site, love the diaper bag. Let’s see what to giveaway next? Here are some ideas.
shoo shoo shoes
see kai run shoes
cuddly wrap
Tuffo Water Resistance Blankets
PEPPA® Sloppy Comforter Doll
BabyLegs
What is your favorite products that you sell. What are your childrens favorite products? What is something you could not live without? What made you decide to use cloth diapers?

Clare · May 12, 2007 at 11:13 am

Beautiful bag! And I always enjoy spending money on your site!

Jennifer Bogart · May 12, 2007 at 11:27 am

Hmm, good thing I don’t need to prove my hipness! Smashing bag, and great give aways! I just have an older the shoulder black MEC bag ;). For more give aways, hmm, Bumpy Wool Diaper Covers are a big hit at our house, utilitarian – Yeessss, but so so useful! Prefolds (oh boy, are we boring at my house or what?), but I like your selections so far, eclectic, maybe not what I’d think of, but definitely useful! Thanks for drawing!

Christine L. · May 12, 2007 at 11:31 am

I love both the giveaways!! The bag is awesome!!! And the card could be easily spent!!
For ideas on what to give away…. wooden toys, Jack and Lily’s, more Baby Legs, there are so many awesome things on your site!!!
Talk about cloth diapering….. always a good subject!!!

Janice · May 12, 2007 at 12:16 pm

May Madness, I love that.

Hey don’t laugh, my Norwegian group meets tomorrow. We often have sardine canapes!

Okay, here’s what I would love to win: Frog rain boots or the Tuffo Blanket.

BTW a friend who was a nurse in Holland kept telling us about these tubs they had for babies in his hospital that kept the babies upright, and how great they are. I couldn’t quite figure out what he was talking about. Turns out you have it – the Tommy Tub.

I would love to hear about how you run a business and have kids around.

Brooke · May 12, 2007 at 12:47 pm

awesome stuff!

Kaia · May 12, 2007 at 1:30 pm

Corey · May 12, 2007 at 2:34 pm

oh and as for what to talk about…..how about the weather? LOL just kidding. How many days left? maybe do the Alphabet. Tell us about something that starts with an “A” nect, then “B”, and so on.
just an idea!
You rock!

Kait · May 12, 2007 at 3:36 pm

That diaper bag is too cute! And I love that it will wipe clean easily. But, I would love the gift certificate just as much!

lindsayc · May 12, 2007 at 3:44 pm

totally commenting for this one!

Dana · May 12, 2007 at 4:38 pm

This is such a great give away, thank you, thank you.
I would love to win a pair of Bical Grippers. They are very cute and I would love to see them on my sons little feet.

Montserrat · May 12, 2007 at 5:01 pm

LOVE the diaper bag. How have I made it through six daughters without a bag like that?? Good thing I don’t have to prove hipness. . .unless you count cowboy boots, jeans, and no make-up as hip. :D

I’d love to win (in no particular order):
diaper pouch
whoozit toys
baby shoes
tub toys
crocodile creek bibs
skin care products
ABC shades

As far as what to talk about. . you could have whoever won an item write a little something!

Julie · May 12, 2007 at 5:51 pm

Ooh – I’ve been coveting that Lucy diaper bag ever since you started selling it on your website! It’s beautiful! It would make a fantastic Mother’s Day gift, especially for me!!

I love the idea of daily giveaways from your online store. I think any of the Manhattan Toys would make great giveaways!

Jacintha · May 12, 2007 at 6:18 pm

I am having difficulty contacting you through this website or your store, so can you please contact me through jable@shaw.ca
Thank you.

Mary C · May 12, 2007 at 6:38 pm

CARLA · May 12, 2007 at 6:41 pm

~CARLA

becky · May 12, 2007 at 7:18 pm

i’m 3 months pregnant & will definitely be looking at the marketplace for ideas. came over by way of jen.

sounds cool that you’re giving away stuff. nice!

Cathy · May 12, 2007 at 8:50 pm

Just found your website, and WOW! How fantastic that you are doing these awesome giveaways! I’d come here even without the fabo prizes, but they just make it all the sweeter this month! I’m drooling over the diaper bag, and somehow I think that I could find a use for the gift certificate. :) So, pick me!!!

cathy

Amy :) · May 12, 2007 at 8:57 pm

Hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day!

I think you should give away some of those ABC shades. My guy just takes his sunglasses off and plays with them while the sun shines in his eyes. Or maybe another diaper bag. I just found some stains of unknown origin on mine today, so I could sure use one… ;)

I’d like to hear your thoughts on transitioning from one kid to the next, as a mom of 4. I’ve only got 1 but we’re planning to have more. Was it hardest to go from 1 to 2, 2 to 3, or 3 to 4? Or was the first one the biggest change?

Michelle · May 12, 2007 at 9:19 pm

what a great contest! I would love the opportunity to win!:)

sarah · May 12, 2007 at 9:53 pm

I just happened upon your site. My son is 2 but my little girl is just 8 weeks so I will be developing a long wish list for your site. But right now I think the cloth diapers, sun glasses and any of the adorable clothes and toys would be excellent giveaways and that diaper bag is awesome, it’s so sheik like a purse rather than a diaper bag, any woman I know would carry it, with or with diapers, lol

Amy · May 12, 2007 at 9:56 pm

New reader via Jenandtonic. What is with the generosity?! You rock!

Kate · May 12, 2007 at 11:52 pm

Also here via Jenandtonic…Great giveaways!! Would love to see cloth diapers in the coming days or Toddler sandals…Happy Mother’s Day!

ozma · May 13, 2007 at 12:16 am

Um, I think I missed this?

Great idea though!

lolly · May 13, 2007 at 12:27 am

Oooh, how nice! What an adorable diaper bag! And who doesn’t need a gift certificate to the Baby Market Place? I just saw several adorable baby shoes, and my poor 10 month old has started walking already, yet she has no shoes! How perfect would that be?

Tristin · May 13, 2007 at 4:39 am

New to this website. I came across it sort of on accident. However the diaper bag is adorable. I don’t know what to tell you to talk about since I really don’t know what you currently talk about. But I don’t have many friends where i am living so any contact with other moms and there stories and encouragement would be great to me :)

Naomi · May 13, 2007 at 9:07 am

My funny husband gave me a set of garden hose adaptors this morning. Not a good prize. A Baby Marketplace gift card or a super cute Timi & Leslie diaper bag would definitely be better, although Ricky might be better than Lucy for my little boy. (He’ll have too much pink in his life already, via his big sister!)

As for prizes, the classic Schylling jack in the box is so cute. I can’t believe Roo made it to 3 without a jack in the box! I am a bad, bad mommy…

Aunt Amy · May 13, 2007 at 10:34 am

Maybe Mother’s day will be my lucky day!

Pam · May 13, 2007 at 10:48 am

Oh, oh, pick me please. I hate my current diaper bags. Yes, diaper bags, plural. I have three and they all suck. One was a freebie backpack one, it weighs a ton because of the plastic lining inside. Free was good but it sucks because it doesn’t stay closed so I can’t use it (and it’s kind of tacky with a formula logo on it). The second was a freebie that came with my stroller. It’s pretty crappy too, small as well and so unfashionable (the backpack one is beyond unfashionable). The third diaper bag we have isn’t a diaper bag. It’s a five dollar tote I bought that looks better than the above mentioned bags but it really isn’t practical for a diaper bag; I bought it because I hated the freebie ones and wanted something different and it seemed cheap. Well, I wasted my five dollars because it doesn’t function well for a diaper bag. We don’t have the extra cash for something my husband considers frivioulous (how in the heck do you spell that?) like a pretty diaper bag so I’d really appreciate it. And it would make a nice Mother’s Day present. Which reminds me, what is Mothers Day? I’m not sure because I bought cards for my mom, grandmas, and some cards for them as well from my eight month old but haven’t received anything. I reminded my husband to go and by his mom and grandma cards so he should know it’s Mother’s Day. We’ve been up for hours and I still haven’t even gotten a simple “Happy Mothers Day” from him. Even a card would be nice. A funky diaper bag even better ;) But like my birthday, Christmas, anniversary and Valentines I’m expecting nothing. That way I won’t be dissappointed at least. Which brings me back to the diaper bag. Can I have it please? Or the gift card and I’ll buy one? Or can you e-mail my husband and tell him to buy me that diaper bag?
As for suggestions for what to giveaway. Hmm, here’s what I’d be looking for:
Wee-Knees. Okay, you don’t stock them but are looking into them I believe. I’d love it if you sold those.
Diapers. I’m a cloth diapering fanatic and would love to see some of those given away. I would love to try some wool covers instead of the PUL ones.
Bathstuff. For the kids. Like the bath squirties or baby soap stuff. People give grownups bath stuff, why not some for our kids?
High chair and shopping cart cover. They seem so practical. And I really want one (my daughter loves to eat the shopping cart rails and the high chair rails).
ABC shades. I have a pair and they are great. What baby wouldn’t want sunglasses stuck to their face that they can’t take off?
ShooShoos. They seem so cute and practical. Plus my daughter loves to eat her shoes (yes we do feed her food. Shoes are for dessert or in the car).
Manhattan Toys. How about a Skwish or a Winkel? I love them so much and I’m sure other moms, er their babies would like them.
Infantino SlingRider. I don’t need one but I know alot of people who do. They are just great for babies and toddlers. I figure it you’re wearing your child then you can’t misplace them (not that I’ve ever done that)
Honestly I could probably find a hundred other things from your store to suggest but I’ve already babbled enough. Are you still reading this or is it too long?

Deborah · May 13, 2007 at 4:41 pm

Here I try again…I honestly don’t have a diaper bag, and could really use one. I have been shoving my baby’s stuff in my purse and it’s not the same as a true diaper bag. I’d definitely put it to good use!

What would I like to see for a May giveaway? I think my pick is the Bummis Super Whisper Wraps…as I will probably be ordering these soon anyways (which the gift certificate would help with!). And for topics to chat about…how about cloth diapering? There are many parents out there who do cloth diaper, and I think it’s great…but there are lots out there who are new to it, or afraid to try. Just a thought…
please pick my name…

Amanda Crabmom · May 13, 2007 at 9:21 pm

My God, MK, these peeps here sure like their goodies and gadgets. I don’t really need you to count me in, as am not in need of diap bag or related yummy freebies. I just want to say Go, MK, go! I am envious of the # of blog-comments you are getting. But for giving away all that free stuff, you sure as heck deserve truckloads of traffic…as opposed to lazy C-Mom who can barely make it to the Post office once a month…and it is a mere block away. Just the thought of parceling things up fills me with doom. But you…fill me with happy Blogmommy smiles! Cheers! And tell your friends when they are done snapping up your goodies and reading about Lizzy and the bear spray to come and hang with me where, you know, there is always the chance of that bottle of maple syrup. One can dare to dream.

dada · May 13, 2007 at 9:27 pm

Here’s to wishing to win the diaper bag for my wife! My wife orders a lot from your store, so instead of buying it all, maybe we could win something. Thanks!

sneekerchik · May 13, 2007 at 9:58 pm

I am so excited! I won Crocodile Creek placemats. Am I allowed to win again? I just picked them out and can’t wait to receive them in the mail. My toddler will love to mess up my beautiful new placemats. The diaper bag is beautiful , I love paisley. And any gift card would be absolutely awesome. Good luck to everyone and me again I hope.

Pam · May 13, 2007 at 11:11 pm

I already posted today but I just wanted to say pick me again. I don’t expect you to enter my name twice before you draw. But I’d still love to win. The husband didn’t do much to acknowledge Mothers Day today (and it’s my first one!). After he could tell I was kind of upset at him because of it he did go out and buy a card (also because I sent him out to buy one for his mother and grandmother). What a crummy day. A Timi and Leslie Diaper Bag would really cheer me up though. Or a gift card. Beggers can’t be choosy all the time so I’d take either!

[…] I don’t decide what I am giving away until I start writing the post (usually), making it hard to plan ahead. In fact, I don’t know what this post is going to be for (REALLY). I am hoping as I write a little more it will come to me! It’s not! I am going to pop over to the post where you all gave me ‘give away’ ideas and pick something right now. DON’T. GO. AWAY. I will be right back. […]
