Holed Up!

Published by on

Thanks for all the emails making sure that I am alive and well! With my memory the way it is, I’m pretty sure I would have forgotten I have a blog if you all hadn’t reminded me.

We had a great holiday filled with grandmas, grandpas, great-grandmas, uncles, aunts, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, baking (BAKING), presents, the rockies and even some skiing. Santa was kind, so kind that I am going to have to ‘ship one of the children to an orphanage’ or ‘purge and organize’. It’s sad, because we really, really enjoy Georgia and will miss her.

Speaking of Georgia, this is my favorite holiday photo. Even though I came down with a chill, in early December and have had to be forced out of the house ever since, I did do a bit of skiing and went on a wee winter hike over Christmas, hence the opportunity to take an outdoor photo.

Here’s my Sammy, cuter than a speckled pup in a red-wagon wearing my dad’s crazy hat.

Lastly, here’s our Lizzy aka MISERY GUTS. Honestly, too many late nights, sweets and doting grandma’s turned her into a BEAR over the holidays. Hmmm … maybe she’d do better in the orphanage than Georgia. Hmmm … I’ll have to think on that one.

OH YEAH, I bought YOU a gift in Canmore too, but I’ll tell you about it next time. Kay?

Sounds like a great Christmas! Happy New Year to you!
I LOVE the photos, they are super cute. Even the one of grumpy Lizzy! Georgia is just adorable, does she ever NOT take a gorgeous picture?? And I adore Sam’s freckles. I’m a sucker for freckles.

What gorgeous kids – and amazing photography! So nice and clear, and I love the black and white. Those are the kind of portraits people pay big bucks for!
I really like reading your blog – can’t recall how I came across it a few months ago but it’s on my bookmark list and I check it often to see what’s new. Your stories are always funny (and sometimes sad, or scary) and never boring. Glad you’re back!

Mike · January 8, 2009 at 1:14 pm

Wow, those black and whites are absolutely stunning. So clear and vivid! Any particular technique you used to create those images in that way?

Hello,

Looks like you really enjoyed your holiday, in those pictures it does look like it was very chilly, while here in Saint Louis, we practically never get a white christmas or anything close to it.

You are truly a talented photographer. I can tell by the expressions on your kids face that you take lots of pictures. They may not like it now, but when they have kids and grandkids they will be very appreciative. All of my childhood photos are long gone due to fire.

I have really enjoyed reading your posts and will visit often.

Grog · January 18, 2009 at 7:39 am

They really are great looking kids!
