Hidden Love Notes

Published by on

Today, like all other days I plopped myself down on the loo, and realized that there was NO toilet paper on the roll. As I stretched and contorted to reach into the vanity …

a love note
I saw this note, written in sharpie on the side of a normally closed and rarely used drawer.

Apparently, it was written by my girl many years ago. I’m glad I found it today. I needed it.

It’s not quite as funny, but so much nicer than the one my boy wrote me a while back.

What made you smile today?

What a great surprise! And if they’re gonna mark up the furniture, that’s an okay place to do it, too… good kids you have there.

What a wonderful surprise! =) Now I’m smiling too.

oh how sweet is that!

This is really sweet. I would be delighted that I was in your place, but my boyfriend never preserved their notes. He even has no love letter.

Thinking about life’s little surprises is a good way to cheer yourself up. Those nice things people say about you and you have no idea that they did…

I try to leave my mother little surprises like this too. Most of the time it’s in the form of an e-mail, we live almost 200 miles apart and I don’t visit as often as I’d like … But when I do, I always try to make her happy like this. One of the things I do is buy some candy she likes (she has a sweet tooth) and hide it in places she wouldn’t normally expect them to be. I don’t have to sign it, she knows it’s from me :)

Definitely agreeing with Naomi above – if they’re going to write on stuff they shouldn’t, putting it in a place that’s mostly out of sight is the right way to go about it :)

ha ha :) not as weird as me though! I used to pull down all the cushions from the sofas and drive my toy truck over them. My mom used to go wild!.. I sure hope my kids dont end up like me

That gave me an instant smile :) Reading your post made me feel so much better, and I’m not even the mom! You must have felt really wonderful after finding out that treasure. Such lovely kids, you must be so proud of them. Thanks for sharing such an inspired post, I love it!

Usually when I find writing in my house it isn’t in quite such a subtle place or that nice.
