Welcome to week 4 of —> Happy Book Day to You ~ the Series

Do you remember in December I held a Happy Book Day Giveaway on my birthday? Well I enjoyed it so much (because books are my favorite thing), I thought I’d make it a weekly occurrence. For the next several weeks you can count on a ‘Happy Book Day to You ~ the Series’ giveaway every Tuesday.

win this ...
Marshmallows for Breakfast (by Dorothy Koomson)

I love British chick-lit and Dorothy Koomson didn’t disappoint. This is a book about hope, redemption and finding love in unexpected places. You can click on the authors (above) name to go to her blog OR you can click HERE to a short blurb about the book. This one made me cry.

Some simple rules and things to remember:

1. This book is second hand. I’ve read it, I liked it and I am giving it to you. It may possibly have coffee rings or warped pages from sitting on my night stand. Call me cheap, or call me environmentally friendly, I’m not bothered either way.

2. Consider passing it forward when you are done, you could even have a giveaway! Remember, what goes around comes around.

3. You must come back here to see if you are the winner. I won’t track you down, if you wait to long … I might lend it to a friend or a neighbor and then YOU are out of luck. You need to email me with your address, once I receive it I will pop it in the mail to you at my convenience.

4. To be eligible to win, you need to leave a comment on this post. I’ll pick a winner sometime on Thursday, February 19th, 2009.

5. Tell a friend—> this isn’t really a rule, but it would be really nice. wink

What book do you have on the go right now? Would you recommend it?

I love chick lit, too. Have you seen Confessions of a Shopaholic? I loved that series, and I can’t wait to see it (though will wait for DVD to come out, eventually).

I am not reading anything right now….I haven’t read in years, and I am embarassed to admit it. I keep saying I am going to start back and just haven’t. When my head hits the pillow at night, I am so gone…..but would like to give this a shot!!! thanks.

paula · February 18, 2009 at 11:26 am

Oh yeah. Me too. Want gum was priceless. I was sitting at my desk here at work, laughing so hard. I am sure the people on the other side of my window thought I was nuts……great fun…..p

Madeline · February 18, 2009 at 1:12 pm

I haven’t had the chance to read in the past week or two…which could be why I feel like I’m going a tad batty. Hmmmmm…the extent of my reading of late has involved Dr. Seuss and food labels. How pitiful is that?

Oh, I love tear-jerking books…the non-fiction I’ve been reading lately has been a wee bit dry…

I’m not reading it right now but Sophie’s Heart is an excellent read. A tear jerking romance but a great read, enough that my copy is coming apart at the binding from love.

I love your Happy book day idea!

Okay, I have to admit I have never read ANY sort of chick-lit. Not because I don’t want to (cause I know I would enjoy them–especially after reading another commentor say they are better than British chick movies–which I am VERY fond of) but because I am devout series reader and I need help! So, if I win, I will finally break free from my series.

Heidi · February 19, 2009 at 8:33 am

I just finished (listening to on CD) not reading Fireproof, can’t wait to see the movie. I sure could use another book to read.

I haven’t read anything from Dorothy Koomson, but it does sound like a good read, whoever wins this, will surely be happy! :)

Just finished up Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult. It was interesting but I wasn’t enjoying all of the court room scenes. I don’t really like court room anythings so maybe it wasn’t the best book to read, half the book involved the court case.
