Buried, Boring … that’s Me!

Published by on

You’re going to wish you’d hadn’t bothered coming round here tonight. Then again, this just may be the perfect bedtime read. It’ll put you straight to sleep, if the turkey already hasn’t.

What’s that stuff in turkey that puts you to sleep? Tryptophan … yes, that’s it. Darn tryptophan, it’s fine for the men who generally move from the table to the sofa, but if you are of the female persuasion then you’re more than likely headed to the kitchen … all sleepy and too full and wishing you’d used paper plates.

Tonight, and tonight only … I am the tryptophan of the blogging world. Not the turkey … the tryptophan!

Like always, I’m behind on the laundry and since our Canadian Thanksgiving was several weeks ago, no turkey day here. Just a regular ‘ole Thursday (with unusually bad TV).

Buried
This was my kitchen table after supper tonight. This is the clean, just folded laundry. The mountain of dirty laundry is about the same size. I need to stop doing this. I need main floor laundry.

I know, I know … you’re getting sleepy. It’s OK, I’ll cut it short. It’s one thing to bore someone to sleep and quite another to bore them to death.

To all my American readers, Happy Thanksgiving!

Not boring at all…I’m impressed by your accomplishment. I’m usually throwing a party if I get two basketfuls done, so to my way of thinking, it’s time for you to have a gala over there. Well done!

And happy (belated) Canadian Thanksgiving! :)

That’s a pretty heap of clean laundry! I think what I hate even more than folding laundry is actually putting it away in drawers…

I agree with Sus-Q…i’m worse about actually putting it all AWAY (assuming it makes it out of the dryer that is).

I like the chalkboard wall..is that your kitchen? pretty handy…

It may have seemed like a boring post to you but i learnt two new things – that Canadians have a Thanksgiving Day (Happy Belated Thanksgiving Day!) and that turkey has an active ingredient that sends people to sleep – i’ll remember to mention that when i’m at my mum’s in the UK for Christmas :)

Candida Doc · November 28, 2008 at 8:46 am

It is actually not proven that treptophan send people to sleep

Hey, that looks like laundry day at my house. I am feeling the tryptophan here, too. You are certainly not boring, just human, like the rest of us. Happy Friday to you.

Hello, I still wish I could help you with your laundry. I can remember when mine was every a bigger pile than yours! Thanksgiving Day was very relaxing and quiet. Take care, Cindi

Mom On The Run · November 28, 2008 at 7:54 pm

I feel your pain! I had laundry on the top floor of my house at my old house – the laundry rarely ever moved out of there – I had a clean pile and a dirty pile, and the clothes just rotated between the two.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all! Your post wasn’t THAT boring..
