A Month of Hope

Published by on

I’ve joined the shutter sisters one word project. I’ve chosen the word ‘hope‘. I will take a photo each day with this word in mind and upload it to the shutter sisters feed on flickr. I figure it should be easy enough, as I’m doing the project365 already. It gives me some direction.

8/365 - hope 1
photography 8/365 ~ hope 1/28

I’ve started to dread this Avonex shot I take on Sunday. It’s not so much that it hurts, it’s just long, and it is difficult to give. I am far from the ‘delicate woman’ sort (especially to look at), but this shot makes me weak, faint, woozy.

At the same time, this medication gives me hope. I hope I don’t relapse. I hope while it keeps me healthy, a cure is found for MS.

Tell me what you’re hoping for today.

MK xo

I hope that the medication works for you. Despite being a syringe, it’s a gorgeous photo.

I’m hoping for a cure for autism…and M.S.

Mostly… I’m hoping that one day my little boy will say “I love you mama.”

Wow, that syringe freaks me out.

I hope that we do find a cure for MS, keep up the treatments.

Perhaps a coffee later this week… will help take your mind of it.

Cindi · February 1, 2009 at 8:59 pm

I wish for so many cures for what hurts people! At some point in time, we are all effected by something. I lost my brother to juvenile diabetes and my mom to adult diabetes. Please keep hoping for a cure for all. Cindi

Great word, Kim. I think “hope” is something we all need more of.
I am praying that a cure is found for MS. In the meantime, I pray that the medication gives you some relief. I would not want to give myself that needle either – I think you are brave and you ROCK!

I’m hoping my daughter gets a good night’s sleep and doesn’t wake up with a fever in the morning. It’s been a rough week, first with one girla dn then the other. Hoping for health for everyone, definitely including you.

whew…i am the ‘delicate’ sort…i am hoping for that cure as well. you got me all choked up over here. been praying for you…will continue…

on a personal side… immediate: hoping for clarity on “family size” (to baby or not to baby that is the question) long-term: hoping (in a different definition of the word…) in Christ…the hope of heaven…and a resurrected body..earth…ect. ok…sorry…waxing romantic in a comment. ;)

My hope is so simple compared to yours. I hope that we can get reliable water in our house so that we can actually live here.

I’m a needlephobe too, but I hope it helps you!

I hope my heart heals soon, since our loss. Oh, and that I might actually get organized this year.

i just hope that you get HUGE results and rewards for having to stab the HUGE needle in you!! You are one brave, amazing, strong person!

Damselfly · February 2, 2009 at 10:21 pm

Oh! I hope you don’t relapse, too.

The colors in this picture are so amazing, and to think it’s “just” a photo of a needle…! Excellent pic.

That is a good picture, I like the way you’ve blurred out the back to bring focus to the needle. I hope I can take more pictures this year – pretty much did nothing last year.

Great shot! Love the colors and sharpness. Fantastic bokeh. What lens do you use?

Madeline · February 3, 2009 at 7:21 pm

That’s such a wonderful project. It can be so easy to see the bad sides of life. I love it when someone takes the bad and shows the hopeful side of it–just like you did with that fabulous photo!! Thanks for sharing.

Nina · February 4, 2009 at 10:34 am

My friend, too, has MS. Oddly enough, her name is “Hope”. Here’s to hoping you and she find the cure you need.
You both are in my thoughts.

Can you share the secret(or how to) :) on how you get such great pictures of whats in front while blurring out the back? This is something I would love to learn, but not quite sure how to do it.

Pauline · February 5, 2009 at 2:30 pm

I hope too that you don’t have a relapse, that a cure is found when you’re still healthy and that my Al is still healthy too.

You’re one tough cookie!
