What a Day!

Published by on

I feel just like Georgia looks in this photo: (in her Zooni hat)

My Little Looni
NO, NO, NO — not drunk and disoriented!

Just dazed and confused

It was one of those nights, that turned into one of those days.

I forgot appointments, and I was late for pretty much everything.

OH, while walking from my bedroom to my kitchen in a tee shirt and panties, some potential customers (not any more they’re not) showed up at my front door (which as a huge window) and saw me walking half naked around my home.

I was hoping they were JW’s, who would sense that it wasn’t a good time to share the message, BUT, no such luck! They waited and I eventually had to pull on my jeans and face them at the door!

They had come to look at cloth diapers, they called (a number that hasn’t been in service for two years) and when they couldn’t get through, they just popped on over!

I hope Psycho-Powder-ARSE, doesn’t get the same idea.

I am going to make it an early night. I’ll see you back here tomorrow … right?

First of all I must tell you that your daughter looks lovely… even “dazed and confused”! The hat is great.

Second… ha ha ha ha ha ha ha… I would absolutely die of embarrassment if ANYONE saw me walking around my house in my undies… perhaps you should invest in some sort of window covering? tee hee. Of course if they saw ME wandering around in my skivvies they certainly wouldn’t stick around… they’d definitely run screaming away in terror.

Ha! Definitely a fear of mine, so I put sheers in my window (maybe people can still see in, but they won’t get a clear picture!!)

I am sorry, but your post made me laugh. I am sorry that your felt dazed and confused! Welcome to my world. The thought of you in your undies with potential clients seeing you, it was funny for me. Now, put me in your situation and it would not be so funny! First of all, I am a lot older than you and know that I look worse in my underwear. Sad, but true. I hope your next few days are much better for you. Cindi

Pants are a good thing, I appreciate your offer to wear them on Monday, although I probably would have pissed myself laughing. I once had JWs spot me in a towel, and a short one at that. They just looked stunned and walked away. But-they also never came back. Maybe thats the trick?

oi- The same thing happened to me when we first moved in our house. I’ve never bought curtains with the same urgency as back then. I think that high schooler got a little bit more than they bargained for when they had to sell magazines!

Jaime Stephens · January 24, 2008 at 11:02 pm

LOL… did they at least buy the diapers? I would have been mortified. The other week I slept in for daycare and my client rang the doorbell and I flew out of bed and was on my way downstairs in my snuggies and tshirt. Luckily dh stopped me before I got down the stairs!

Noreen · January 24, 2008 at 11:11 pm

I feel your pain, yesterday was like that for us, minus the missing pants lol :)

That would be a good way of scaring away the JW’s (maybe)!

bree · January 25, 2008 at 12:35 am

oh my gosh, I would have died haha. that sucks you had to eventually go answer the door.

Yan · January 25, 2008 at 12:52 am

haha, you are so funny, I am so sorry I just have to laugh reading your post:P We all have one of those days, I am sure tomorrow will be much better :)

Kait · January 25, 2008 at 6:24 am

I learned about pajama pants the hard way too. Don’t you love it when people just stop over?

Susy-Q · January 25, 2008 at 6:42 am

Ha, if only I looked half as beautiful when I am dazed and confused or drunk and disoriented!

Julie · January 25, 2008 at 7:28 am

Okay, that is totally something I would do. Ugh, but hopefully you all got a good laugh about it when you finally opened the door…most people would have a pretty good sense of humour about something like that!

Love your daughter’s hat – very cute!

Naomi · January 25, 2008 at 7:44 am

yikes. who goes to the vendor’s HOUSE uninvited?! Weird enough to show up at your warehouse. Freaky cloth diaper zealots!

glittersmama · January 25, 2008 at 8:52 am

I love windows, but I think I want them all on the back of my house.

Cocoa · January 25, 2008 at 11:24 am

Hahahaha! At least you can say your life is never dull. I’ve never been caught in my undies, but I have been caught with my shirt unbuttoned and my nursing bra not done up. I was feeding the baby in the car before heading into the store and completely forgot to do everything up before heading in. I couldn’t figure out why the people I passed were giving me such weird looks.

Heid · January 25, 2008 at 12:47 pm

Don’t feel to bad about running around with no pants on. I once opend my front door with no shirt on (a nice lacy white bra on though). I thought it was my husband at the door, as it was locked and he had been out mowing the lawn in the front yard. Needless to say it was the pizza delivery man. I just pretended nothing was wrong and paid him. I’m sure my bright red face gave it away though.

Heather · January 25, 2008 at 1:08 pm

Wow! I can’t imagine. I would feel like Georgia, too!!

heather h · January 25, 2008 at 1:12 pm

Oh man, that totally stinks! Georgia’s cute pic makes up for it in some small way, though, right?!? Thanks for the laugh. I am sorry it was at your expense, though!!

Laura · January 25, 2008 at 1:57 pm

I hate to say this, but I have a lot of experience in being exposed. LOL.
When I married my husband, I moved into his under-renovations house… there were no curtains to speak of and not even a bathroom door. Our bathroom window looks out to our neighbour’s shed, and oh! Did I mention we live on a major highway? Our ‘closet’ had to be in the livingroom while we reno’d the main bedroom and slept in the office. If I didn’t give someone a peek coming out of the shower, it would be after drying and having to find clothes in the livingroom with the HUGE window.

Some advice: Go outside and pretend to be the person who saw you. You may find you can’t see much at all. After I did this outside our bathroom window, I could look our neighbour in the eye again.

:D :D :D

“Momma said there’d be days like this…” right? Don’t worry i’ve been having a few of those myself lately including today’s adventure of flashing an entire store from a dressing room that had an unusually high door, hey I can’t help that i’m short can I? Talk about embarrassing moments!

I did nearly the same thing once. I thought my dh was working in the garage one early morning, so when I got up I opened the door from the house to the garage to say good morning. Well, I had just gotten out of bed with not a stitch on (ahh, the good ol’ days pre-baby and pre-baby fat). Of course I didn’t realize that the overhead garage door was open and he was out talking to the next door neighbor who had a straight on view of me as I opened the door in my ‘nothingness’. I never could look at him the same again!
