SNL Gumby Flashbacks!

Published by on

I haven’t started decorating the house for Christmas. Mostly because, I’d have to clean it first, and well honestly, I just don’t feel like it.

Georgia is getting pretty excited about the whole Christmas thing this year. She is always asking me to draw her Santas and Rudolphs. I thought I’d give her a treat and deck out the chalkboard wall with her favorites.

Well, in true Georgia fashion, my Santa’s beard wasn’t big enough, and didn’t I know that his suit is ALL red not black (no concern to the fact I was running out of ‘pink’ chalk). My Rudolph didn’t have any legs (she added about 11 of them later), his eyes aren’t brown they are blue. Combine this with pathetic crying for more ‘icing’ (I was saving it to finish the Gingerbread houses), and I was pretty much ready to SNAP!

I kept having flash backs to high school and the SNL Gumby Christmas. It was titled ‘Merry Christmas Dammit‘.

Ha! Loving it, MK!
I am sure we can alllll relate.
me, I’m getting tad tired of being asked if I believe in Santa and feeling that I’m getting caught out on all the fuzzy logic in my Xmas stories to the Crabkid.
Merry merry!

wait…i thought you said you weren’t a “crafty” momma. that is a great picture! my people/animals are always stick which my son has now started complimenting me on in the same way he complements his little sister on her chicken scratch “drawings”…”oh! wow! that’s veeery goood momma!”. stinker. & i’m not sure when i saw that gumby but i do remember it. funny. isn’t it “damBit” though? not sure why that sticks in my mind.

in other news we met a little girl at the playground today (who is “3 & a half”, very adamant about that half) that looked so much like Georgia, it was pretty strange, esp. since i had no one to share the moment with. “hey look Asher, she looks like the little girl from that blog mommy reads…yeah, the one you ask who it is and I always say, “someone we don’t know”….heh. the internet is weird.

I love it!!! You are such a talented artist! At least the stuff you draw looks like stuff!

We are all decorated and ready to go. Now it’s a matter of chasing these young hooligans AWAY from the stockings and the tree and the ornaments and everything else!

I am eating my weight in cookies this month… since I am burning up all these calories anyway! You wouldn’t want me to be a waif come 2009 right? RIGHT?

My husband adored Gumby and Pokey! On Halloween, he wears a Gumby t-shire and a special Gumby hat to answer the door. The trick or treaters love it.
Your art work is very good. I can’t even draw a stick person!!!!!
We haven’t even started decorating or have many gifts. Cindi

Hahaha that is hilarious! One of the reasons I’m looking forward to kids is getting excited about the holidays again. Although…I’m not looking forward to the stress that is emanating from this page!

To be honest “MommyKnows” you’re a more better artist than i am. i couldn’t even draw up a santa’s hat let alone Santas and Rudolphs for my 2 year old toddler. Great art work!
