My Period (man friendly post)

Published by on

The period key isn’t working on my laptop

In order to keep this post organized and refrain from having the world’s longest run on sentence, each sentence will live on it’s own line

Imagine there is a period at the end of each line

What a pain in the ASS

I am able to copy and paste periods from other places, so when absolutely necessary they may appear

I have all kinds of great posts coming this week

Contests (itunes and book), a great toy review (if you’re not done your shopping don’t miss this) and holiday happiness posts

Mostly I’ve been busy wrangling Georgia

Crazy Georgia
She’s pretending to be a dog here

She’s quite convincing, she scared her friend enough to make her want to go home (OH Georgie!)

My MS drugs suck

Daily Shot
This was taken about 2 minutes after the injection

Getting the injection doesn’t hurt, but about 30-45 seconds later it starts to sting, swell and turn red

Within a couple of minutes it looks like the shot above and it stings like a WASP

LIKE A WASP!

That isn’t the worst part though, the worst part is that about 12 hours later it looks like an egg (a super itchy egg) has been injected under the skin (too vain to show you photos of that)

It is just too ugly

The good news is: IT’S WINTER YAY (like -30c winter) and this bloody ugly mess is well hidden under my December wardrobe of cozy fleece PJ bottoms

I’ll be back soon, cheerier, with colorful happy photo’s and a better attitude – SOON!

Looks like you might be allergic to the drugs?? Is that possible?

Michelle · December 14, 2008 at 8:37 pm

Oh, take care of yourself, okay? How much longer will you be testing out these drugs? Hope they’re helping in the long run.

My computer sometimes freaks out and refuses to let me put in apostrophes. Crazy things, these tech tools.

Oh no, that looks awful! I’m so sorry to hear that you have such a crummy reaction. I hope that they help and that it is worth it in the end! And Georgia is so cute!!! That pic is precious. =)

Oh Kim, I’m so sorry to read & see that you are still getting those ISR … I really do hope that they start to get less & less. But if the meds are helping with the disease side of things, that is good. Are they??

Georgia is such a little cutie pie – I love seeing pics of her!

Anyhow, I hope you find a solution to your pain.

I agree that it looks like an allergic reaction? Do you have to do that every day?? How awful.

Karan, it’s man-friendly because it’s not really talking about her PERIOD (Aunt flo, that time of the month, etc.). Come on – it was funny.

Hehe…sounds like Georgia and my daughter would have fun. She’s scared a few friends away several times.

Sorry about your meds. It looks painful and itchy.

hey that is a great shot of g. sorry about us having to make an abrupt exit – it wasn’t really georgia scaring ella, i think she was just tired from skating her little heart out.

sorry about the injections. that sucks. do you have some kind of soothing cooling gel or something you could put on afterwards? ugh. sorry.

That reaction definitely isn’t normal — looks like an allergy. Have you talked to the doctor about the irritation around the injection site?

Stinks about the period key too =( But even worse, is if your spacebar breaks. Thenyouhavetotypelikethis. Not fun!

MommyKnows · December 15, 2008 at 9:34 am

@ Ernesta – nope it’s not an allergy, the reaction is common for this drug

@ Michelle – 2 years 10 1/2 months to go! In reality, I need to take one of these drugs for the rest of my life

Out of the two I prefer this one, it leaves marks and stings, but I don’t feel sick, the other one makes me feel just awful!

@ Hannah – I am not sure if they help or not, MS is weird like that, I could go for years without symptoms or months — so far so good! I think the help comes over years, only time will tell

@ Karan (see Eileen’s comment) DUH!

@ Eileen – Thanks for dealing with Karan!

@ Safire – I am happy to know there are other scary dog/kids around :)

@ Jamie – Thank you!

@ OSG – Thank you — YES, please add me, I love being added :)

@ JennB – 1) Thank you 2) Next good egg somewhere good to photograph I’ll post 3) Glad you got it! Silly Karan 4) 0 freezing point does make sense, I kind of like f for warms temps and c for cold — weird but true

@ Madeline – Thank you / Thank you — I like my dog/kid too!

@ Kim – Thanks Kim — I figured E was probably just worn out, but my kids is a bit feral :(

@ Dara – for most drugs this would be unacceptable for this one though it is pretty normal — space bar would be worse!

You should just punctuate all your sentences with an exclamation point. People might think you are yelling at them but really it just gets your point across. It is a bummer that that drug does that to you.

Gary@Baby Safety · December 15, 2008 at 12:22 pm

I think it is normal.. that happen to my daughter too but after a few days she is fine.

Elizabeth · December 15, 2008 at 3:49 pm

I’ve been away for a while. I missed that you were diagnosed with MS. I hope that all goes well with those meds. That mustn’t be enjoyable. Thank you for your comment, today. Georgia’s just like Hunter – pretend pretend pretend!
Thinking of you,

I don’t know what drug this man I know about is testing, but it really helped his MS very much. There was a lottery for being able to test the drug and he was picked. Take care of yourself…..Cindi

Great idea to turn the loss of a key into a cute post. I once had the r key stuck on my keyboard as I was trying to type a paper. You can imagine how it looked every time i hit the letterrrrrrrr.

Richard Mongler · January 2, 2009 at 11:45 am

Was a drink spilled on your laptop?

Nate · May 1, 2012 at 1:48 pm

my g key fell off, so just use ctrl + v all the time. be thankful you don’t use the capital version of the period often.
