Several months ago, I posted about Hayley (my oldest daughter) going to Brazil next year. She is going as a Rotary Youth Exchange Program. It’s going to be a great adventure, but we will miss her!
She leaves August 11th and will be gone for 10-11 months! AHHHH!
She has decided that she is going to BLOG while she is gone and keep us all updated as to her activities and whereabouts. Easy enough—> OR not! She can’t think of a ‘cool’ name for her blog. Come to think of it I don’t think kids say ‘cool’ that much any more but this is a ‘cool’ mom blog and it belongs to me, so I am going to say, “cool”.
I told her we could have a contest on my site to name the BLOG and believe it or not she thought it sounded like a fun idea.
Put on your creative caps and come up with a blog name for my girl :)
On Thursday night about 9pm’ish we’ll choose two winners – one winner will be randomly drawn and the second winner will be the name Hayley likes the best :) If by chance she doesn’t like any of the names (which I doubt) I’ll just randomly draw the 2nd winner.

Speaking of cool … I received two awards just recently. I am very pleased :) I think supposed to do more than just mention them here, I have to pass them forward, but for tonight I will just ‘toot my own horn’ and say, “thanks” and then later in the week I will figure out what to do and do it!

Wow, Brazil sounds like fun… and you can’t beat their tans! I am horrible at coming up with good names, so I’ll keep thinking and post again if I come up with something good. For now, I’m going to shop the baby marketplace and see what I can get with my gift cert :)

What about names not necessarily to do with Brazil, so that when she comes back..IF..she wants to keep it up, the name can stay. I know there are some listed above, but what about a play on Legally Blonde, like BilingualBlonde or BiculturalBlonde ..hmmm
What about BlondeMusings or MusingsfromBlondie – something with a feature, like her hair.. instead of her name..
Are her eyes blue?? BlueEyedBloggette.. BlondeBloggette..
and if she really wants her name, then maybe use her middle name – to add a fun spin to herself.

Wow that sounds like fun. My dd went on exchange to Japan for a summer when she was 14. It would have been great to be able to read her daily blog. She had a super time as I am sure your daughter will. I think flying with Haley would be a great name.

Wow Brazil! Fun in the sun! I hope she gets some time to do some site seeing when she is there although I know she will be busy with the Youth Rotary! How about Hayley’s Latin Brazilian Beats…sort of like the 70’s teen magazine Tiger Beat.( Am I dating myself? ha ha) She can chat about her experiences and what life is like for the teen in Brazil compared to the Canadian teen.
