Life getting you down? Need a break from the kids, the cold or just a good laugh? ME TOO!
I’m tired, my back hurts (it’s this darn chair), my pinky fingers are numb and my elbow hurts (I can’t quit leaning on it). The house is a chambles (OMGosh … the closets and junk drawers are overflowing). I need comic relief … (drumroll)
SO, without a doubt, this is my absolute favorite FUNNY TV moment!

Winter feels like FOREVER this year and I have holidays on my mind. Will (dh) would like a “do nothing” holiday with NO kids, but I know that if I leave home without the kids, I’ll spend most of the trip thinking – Lizzy would have loved this OR Sam would love this! And of course the rest of the the trip saying “Oh, we have to come back here with the kids”!
So my thinking is we should just all go together. We have done Disneyland several times, but not Walt Disney World. We have put it off by telling the kids that we will wait for Sam to reach the magical height of 48”—that seems to be the “ride anything” height in the Magic Kingdom. Even the kiddies seem to think this is a reasonable excuse!
On a trip to the health unit on Thursday, we measured Sam at 47” and he let out a LOUD “WOOHOO, only ONE more inch and we’re going to Disney World!” There were lots of chuckles and a some clapping and jumping from his crazy baby sister (his private cheering squad).
“Did you hear that Dad?” Just one more inch, you’d better start saving sugar they grow really fast!
Well it’s finally warmed up a bit outside, with temperatures hovering around zero celcius (32 F). The kids were very anxious to play outside today saying, “it’s like summer Mom!” A bit of an exageration to say the least but with the miserable weather we’ve had lately it must feel like summer to them.
Sam who obviously has a hardy Canadian constitution felt he needed snow pants to stay dry (there are 18” of the stuff still on the ground) but no shirt or coat were necessary on such a balmy day! “Oh my stinkin heck son … it’s WINTER!
In the words of the Canadian brewers (of who I am not a customer, but that’s a whole other post) “I AM CANADIAN“!
Hopefully, before the neighbours could see him, we had him in the house and then back out again with all of the missing clothing items—> socks, shirt, coat, mittens and toque!
Where is Recife you ask? BRAZIL ... it looks fab! Well you can see that yourself from the picture posted below!
Why? For adventure of course!
When? Not until August when she’ll fly off and live with several other families for 10 months. She will be attending school as well, ALL in portuguese!
How? Well, that was actually the REALLY DIFFICULT part, after a long and arduous application process she has been accepted to the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.
We are excited for her, but it won’t be the same around here with out her!
